It hurt me because she'll never understand until she's older how giving it away to someone unworthy just wasn't worth it. I didn't give mine away. I just want these young girls to understand just what their virginity is worth. I want them to know their own worth, and alas they don't seem to care.

My mom wouldn't talk to me, instead when I would ask, she would accuse me of already doing it. Religion can't always be the only thing to push abstinence. I believe it all comes down to respect. If you respect yourself and think things through before acting, then you're on the right path. No one should tell you what to do with your intimate life, as long as you are not a rapist or pedophile or inflicting pain on yourself and others.
