Feb 5, 2008 - Yeah, Checkicco's show "DAIBAtteki!" debuted before their first single came out. Some other idol groups like Onyanko Club (and a newer group, Idoling!!!) also started off with their TV shows before releasing music. As for the singing, good singing isn't really the whole point of being an idol anyway. :P Though their songs are more tolerable to the ear than some other idols out there *coughHoshiiNanasecough*.

Feb 5, 2008 - They weren't actually a pop-idol group, they were more like the Mouseketeers. They served as the all-purpose on-air talent on Daiba Gold and did everything from street reporting to modeling swimwear to serving snacks to the celebrity guests. Only 5 of the 20 girls were decent singers and nobody pretended otherwise.
