Aug 30, 2008 - Another reason is because they were designed to work better under different conditions. And then the US jumped into the sand wars

Sep 20, 2008 - The OH-6 isn't a Kiowa- the KW is the OH-58D. And it's NOT working for scout/recon, which is why the Army decided to buy the Bell ARH-70. The KW was supposed to go bye-bye a while ago. But don't trust me- it's just what I've done for nearly 2 decades...

Sep 23, 2008 - Commmanche project is scraped; as far as I know...

Sep 30, 2008 - LOL the video ends as soon as they mention "civilian helicopters"
drury09 Says:
Oct 19, 2008 - No the comanche project hasn't been scrapped. It's still undergoing the final experimentation just as the F-22 had. It takes years for aircraft in general to pass the tests needed to convince the military it's ready for real combat. Trust me, if it's been scrapped then we still wouldn't hear talk about it all over the TV.
usmcpsu66 Says:
Oct 28, 2008 - As of right now, the Commanche project is on hold indefinitely, because it just got way too expensive. Also, instead of being strictly a scout helicopter, the project became more and more like an attack helicopter until it reached a point where it was stepping on too many Apache toes, and rather than move back to the original plan of making it a scout helo, they've decided to just scrap it and keep the Apache for attack and the Kiowa for observation (although even that they've put into attack)
ff7redxiii Says:
Oct 31, 2008 - sucks the stopped development, such a kick ass chopper.
wtfAvailableUser Says:
Oct 31, 2008 - Id say its on hold cause of lack of funds for new tech development.
bigbangAT Says:
Nov 2, 2008 - yeah but it was soooo very expensive
FloOFy2 Says:
Nov 6, 2008 - Yeah, and they also scrapped it so they could modernize and improve all of the current helicopters that we have now instead of spending so much money on this when we thisl
halorulez786 Says:
Nov 9, 2008 - comanche and apache i think are the best !!
euheide Says:
Dec 8, 2008 - beautiful helicopter! And looks good also. Too bad it was considered too expensive. It's like that ferrari you can't have...

Poseidon1919 Says:
Dec 12, 2008 - apache is really strong gun ship but this is lighter but tactical one with less ammo
bart18121975 Says:
Dec 16, 2008 - About US$6.9 billion had already been invested in the Comanche program at the time of its termination.[7] An additional US$450-680 million was required in contract termination fees to main program partners Sikorsky and Boeing Integrated Defense Systems. Talking about waste of tax dollars
Icarusdecending82 Says:
Dec 20, 2008 - Heh yeah minor hickup compared to the dough to bailout the auto and financial industries.
