Jul 28, 2008 - I like Jason's voice on this one, but the guitar does sound a little too harsh. Ray's guitar was nicer.

Jul 31, 2008 - I am "Crazy" about Jason's version of this song. I heard him sing it in Chicago and he is amazing live. Can't wait until his first album comes out.

Aug 5, 2008 - I love the way Jason sings this song I can't seem to get enough of it. But I understand what you mean about the guitar; can't put my finger on what it is. Harsh, yes. But there's more and not being a musician and certainly no expert on the guitar I can only say that I can hear that it's off.
JStevens988 Says:
Aug 6, 2008 - I actually like the guitar here, I think it fits the whole 'Crazy' vibe of the song.Jason has said LaMontagne is one of his favourite musicians. He has great taste. Ray is a modern musical and lyrical legend in my books. His voice is pure fucking passion, his music is just so good for the soul. Props to Ray for the brilliant arrangement and respect to Jason for doing it justice.

Aug 7, 2008 - Jason is a free soul. He carries himself so and it comes through in his music. I love that about him & I love how it translates into his music. I don't hear this harsh strumming yall are talking about, it sounds free and 'crazy' to me - for lack of a better term. Having said that, hes def. improved SO freaking much since this performance :) And Ive gotta give the band (on tour) credit for the extended layering. Theyre pretty awesome too.

Aug 10, 2008 - well duh! this was one of jason's first performances and he wasnt trained yet. and Ray is much older and is the guy who wrote the song! so he's obviously gonna sound better with the recording and stuff.
homeostasis4me Says:
Aug 11, 2008 - Ray wrote it? Ever hear of Gnarles Barkley?
JStevens988 Says:
Aug 14, 2008 - Gnarles Barkley are great but I dislike Cee Lo's vocals in Crazy. Ray's arrangement is awesome (as is his voice and muscianship) and Jason does a great job on this on tour. I bet he never thought people would be watching this on youtube and analyzing it, lol.

Jul 23, 2008 - After seeing his Chicago performance of this, I had to come back to this video. The kid is awesome. His performance was electrifying and soulful. I heard a hell of a lot of passion & a HUGE growth in his vocals. His musicianship was flawless too. He was a somewhat shy, unfound, unpolished talent in this video & now, the kid is onstage performing to millions with charming confidence & a powerful voice to boot. There is still an element of gritty, unrefined rawness there which should not be lost.
