Nov 12, 2008 - julie andrews did such a good job with this (:better than that other chick from the movie.
ithrowclams Says:
Nov 14, 2008 - that "chick" is audrey hepburn...
phskin Says:
Nov 14, 2008 - While Julie andrews certainly had the voice (Marnie Nixon was not chopped liver) She would have never had the screen presence of Audrey Hepburn. I'm a hgue Julie andrews fan. But, they made the correct choice.
lynnandjensbabe Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - i know who she is.
labanlieusarde09 Says:
Nov 17, 2008 - looooooool.
labanlieusarde09 Says:
Nov 17, 2008 - look at her.. she could never ever replace audrey hepburn in " my fair lady " .she is just too...common ...
odbockin Says:
Nov 20, 2008 - Actually, the singing on the film is Julie Andrews, because the producers judged that Audrey Hepburn (chosen for box office) couldn't sing! (For my money she can't act either, though no one denies her importance to fashion) All hail Julie Andrews!
odbockin Says:
Nov 20, 2008 - Actually Audrey Hepburn's singing on the film was done by Julie Andrews. No one can deny Audrey Hepburn's importance to fashion, but for my money Julie Andrews rules, for singing and for acting. (By the way, Wendy Hiller is the best Eliza in the original film of Pygmalion, film-scripted by George Bernard Shaw.the author of this original source of the musical.)
oddsfishandsinkme Says:
Nov 20, 2008 - It's Marnie Nixon who did the voice in the movie
odbockin Says:
Nov 20, 2008 - I stand corrected: Marnie Nixon's voice it is. I still am not a big fan of Audrey Hepburn in the role, though I know legions of fans are besotted with the film. Actually, Hepburn was good in the original Sabrina with Humphrey Bogart -- and she is undeniably a beautiful woman.
jenmaisen Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - I LOVE JULIE!
IsaacAndBonna Says:
Nov 23, 2008 - As far as the movie goes I'm happy they picked Audrey Hepburn she did very well making the part her own. Julie Andrews...I don't know...she just sounds tooooo pretty singing there. I don't think she could ever be "unrefined" but thats just me.
Heavensburden Says:
Nov 25, 2008 - She turned down the role (julie did) for Sound of Music I think. :) But I agree. I love Julie singing MORE than Audrey's but mannnnnn Audrey did wonderful and so much more beautiful.
Heavensburden Says:
Nov 25, 2008 - Not that Julie isn't beautiful :) They are both gorgeous - they just have different sorts of pretty ;) and Audrey's worked better when she was being the common Eliza.
addoumz Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - Do u guys know that Audery Hepburn was not the singing voice of Eliza so the acting she was gr8 but she can't sing
glcfordco Says:
Nov 27, 2008 - Julie Andrews is a born and bred LONDONER....She had elocution lessons when she first started singing.......
VivaLaVodka Says:
Nov 27, 2008 - It's such a joy to watch Julie Andrews:) She's simply wonderful. I wish they'd chosen a professional musical star (probably the best!) to play Eliza on screen, though if she had been chosen we would never have got to see her as the practically perfect Mary Poppins. I love Eliza but Mary Poppins is far more magical and superior a character in my opinion:)
VivaLaVodka Says:
Nov 27, 2008 - It's just seeing her as Eliza, her wistful gaze as she sings this song to perfection it makes me wonder just how truly amazing My Fair Lady would have been had it had Julie Andrews as its star...
daughterrevolution Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - I don't see why she couldn't have done both Poppins and Eliza. They both were perfect for her. How could anyone not see the star quality in this clip? Dummies!
denisesf5 Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - This was a part Julie Andrews made famous on Broadway and she was snubbed when the part was offerd to the 'better' box office risk, Audrey Hepburn. In fact, when Julie was nominated and WON best actress that year for Mary Poppins she actually got her revenge by THANKING the man who chose to hire Audrey, in her acceptance speech! She said that with out him, her award wouldnt have been possible! HA! Catty but spot on...

ObamaRules4Ever Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - Nah mate, children today aren't interested in fucking crap like this.

MissGolightlyDarling Says:
Nov 8, 2008 - i Personally think Julie was better for t'role of Eliza, much as i adore audrey too. They were both legends but good at different things...Like Audrey was better for the role of Holly Golightly for example! I Love Julie & im soooo happy we have this footage =D
