May 17, 2008 - If you like this style, you should get 'Distortion', which is full of these melodies. Other bands which make these style of music are The Jesus and Mary Chain (check Psychocandy) and My Bloody Valentine (check Loveless).The other albums of Magnetic Fields are a lot different, I believe. 69 Love Songs is their masterpiece among the critics.Enjoy!

Jun 27, 2008 - Personally I find it closer to Wayward Bus/Distant Plastic Trees if just because the vocals are somewhat buried under sometimes abrasive sonics. I could see a little resemblance to J&MC in general. I guess maybe to "Kill Surf City" for it's faux-50s on distortion. I don't think it resembles shoegazer bands much at all. The 50s pop tone on some of the songs is very much like WB/DPTs and Holiday albums from Magnetic Fields.
