Oct 20, 2008 - Can't argue that... they don't call it 'title town' for nothing.. but LSU did beat USC 23-3 in Los Angeles in 1984and when USC beat us in Tiger stadium it wasn't until the 4th quarter, and despite having marcus allen it was only a very low scoring 5 point game... LSU had a 7-5 year in 1979 lol.

Nov 10, 2008 - According to John Ed Bradley the author of It Never Rains in Tiger Stadium and the LSU center in the game, USC was the beneficiary of real BS facemask call by the referee that handed them the ball game. They don't show it in this video but from what I've read the bad call cost LSU the game.

John Robinson was not a very good coach, he just had the best coaching staff in the country (including the best offensive line coach in the history of football), as well as the best talent in the country, but when the talent started to shift, his USC teams slowly lost their dominence since he couldn't make up for it with great coaching.
