Jul 11, 2007 - Nice vid. Save the earth = good.. but to say bankrupt middle east, is not. The entire M.E. is not 'bad', only select persons within it. Its also undeveloped, mostly due to poverty. Remember that we also came from such a state, long long ago.

Jul 11, 2007 - hi ZeroFossilFuel, the video quality is just fine :) I watched your video last night and was very impressed. Idea: Do you think it's possible to acuate the lever driven by the rotation of the magnets? Maybe some cam or something? Thought about it a lot last night, but I don't know if it's a chicken or the egg problem though. Thanks anyway and good job.

PMorphy65 Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - ZeroFossilFuel lol Sorry, I didn't watch the video completely before I wrote you about the cam action. Now I'm happy I thought about it independently.

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - I'm sorry to point out to you that if demand for oil dries up, and it will, the entire political structure of the Middle East will crumble as it depends almost solely on holding the rest of the world hostage. I am tired of being held hostage. Good riddance to it.

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - Yep. Way ahead of you.

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - P.S. I have nothing against Middle Eastern culture or it's people, only the oppressive governments who rule it and hold the rest of us hostage for ransom. Their rein is about to come to an abrupt stop. If they haven't already, they had better start thinking about migrating their economies to be based on something other than oil. The free ride is over. I hope they drown in their crude.

I3ursucu Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - As all of those who saw your movies, I can hardly wait to see the loop closed. I have an idea about an permanent magnet motor, but at present I don't have time to build and try it. It seems that you will invent a perpetual motor ahead of me :P.

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - It has been suggested by an ignoramus that I imply by my words we are somehow entitled to Middle Eastern oil. I make no such implication. But, we all have certainly developed a dependency on the energy it produces, which they leverage against us by charging a kings ransom for every precious drop. While energy dependency will not go away, oil dependency for that energy will. Get ready. The paradigm is about to shift.

xiaou2 Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - Thanks for the clarifications. I agree with you on the points you make. Seems that Greed is humanities worst enemy. Even our own Govt. is corrupt and unjust. Greed ruins it all. Very very sad.

PMorphy65 Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - Don't worry about that guy ZeroFossilFuel, some people politicize everything. I think your message was clear that you have nothing against the middle east or its people. I agree that our country has become way too dependent on oil, but after you get this device up and running, all of that will be mute :) Now get busy! Joking.

Jul 11, 2007 - What is the purpose of the high permeability ring and what is the black rectangular part near the center of the rotor?

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - Yes, and lest we forget the impact it will have on good ole George W's bank account. Payback is going to be such a bitch. He and his oil barron frat pals can rot in hell.

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - The ring carries magnetic lines of flux from the back of the rotor magnets through to the adjacent outward facing poles where it's needed, much the same way as the stator magnet on it's backing plate. The "rectangle" is a piece of black electrical tape so viewers can see the rotation more easily. Thanks for your questions.

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 11, 2007 - Can anyone tell me how I reverse the order of these posts and put newest at the top?

PMorphy65 Says:

Jul 12, 2007 - I think it happens automatically once there are enough comments to fill this page. That's what I've noticed elsewhere, but I'm just guessing.

I3ursucu Says:

Jul 12, 2007 - Yap. It needs to be more than a page of text, so post some more as I do right now. I don't want this post to be this big, but I'm doing it so, hopefully it will be enough to push the oldest message to page 2 and now I don't know what to write anymore and so I will stop :D. Waiting for the breakthrough.

goolsnfc Says:

Jul 12, 2007 - Hi ZFF,I have a tendency to simplify so take or leave this comment. Can you bias the bearing to one side with a spring or bungie and then use one rail? hap

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 13, 2007 - Thought about that. If I biased it I could eliminate half the raceway. Problem is the stator must be DRIVEN in both directions. Doing so with a spring would impose unnecessary drag.

goolsnfc Says:

Jul 13, 2007 - Would the energy wasted changing the direction of the bearing rotation 4 time per revolution be less?

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Jul 13, 2007 - Inconsequential, at least at this scale.

billmcg980 Says:

Aug 3, 2007 - will it work any better with more magnets or is four best

ZeroFossilFuel Says:

Aug 4, 2007 - I believe the more magnet the better, right up to the point where the fields from adjacent magnets merge too closely. 4 is an easy number to work with, so is 6.

RashadGl Says:

Aug 14, 2007 - can you add draw it in sketchup i will help you. if you want a 3d animation i will do it for you. email (RashadGlover AT gmail.c o m)
