Dec 11, 2007 - An important discussion; however there was an important omission in the discussion on "urbanizing" rural India, namely environmental limitations. Any discussion on urban planning and/or rural development not in the context of these limitations lacks foresight. I'm glad India is once again discussing a strategy of development focused on rural areas. ~Lacy MacAuley, USA

Jan 12, 2008 - I would definitely agree about "roots". It has always been the tip of roots which has been gulping most of the allocated funds. How do we fix this?.. using media attention! Yes.This has been obvious for quite some time, but I can see progress especially with help from our medias, who seems to be emphasizing more on the new gov endeavors. I believe they missed to address transport, there could always be cheap and fast means of transport set between the metros and the rurals.
