Nov 17, 2008 - I believe your opinion seem to be quite on the mark; Jean-Marie Perier seem to had quite an influence on her during 1960's. At the end her shift in style was her choice, I doubt that consequent development had anything to do with drugs BUT wild playboy Dutronc, although Dutronc influence was quite markable (unfortunately) on her 80s style. Drugs and other wild stuff I strongly believe that she is above that nonsense, she seem to be very intelligent, as well quite conservative drugs? Naaah!

Nov 19, 2008 - Just read some criticsim below, it's interesting to hear people's perspectives. But must say both Francoise Hardy "Viola" videos are the best. Of anything and anyone.

Azorka82 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Oops. I misspelled criticism and "Voila" earlier. Hunt and peck, spelling mistakes by accident. Too tired earlier, didn't notice. Still tired, pretty loopy. But yes, her "Voila" videos are the best. A post below by RideMyBMW makes a comparison that literally hurt me to read. Can't even respond to it. Don't even want to think about it. Terrible. Just terrible.

Nov 24, 2008 - NOTHING IS wrong with our friend who likes his BMW (I hope 740's?) Apparently there is a quite a shift in her style in the 1980's. This song is masterpiece (my all time favorite) and majority of all her work in 1960-70's she really is the one of the greatest ones, and quite intelligent lady.. so what happened lately by far is fairly irrelevant, but for her respective audience we would like to know what did trigger such a drastic change in her style? And that is all what I have to say about that.

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 24, 2008 - "A post below by RideMyBMW makes a comparison that literally hurt me to read." - AzBritney in her prime gives Francoise a run for her money, like totally...

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 24, 2008 - "what did trigger such a drastic change in her style?" - YitHave you seen the clips from Hardy´s 68 show"Francoise Hardy Blues" ? Thats the beginning of the end right there man, the trigger, the point of no return. She lent her name to this monstruosity of a TV variety show. Adding insult to injury, they paired her up with a couple of clowns like Dutronc and Lapointe.

Azorka82 Says:

Nov 25, 2008 - Ouch.

Azorka82 Says:

Nov 25, 2008 - That comparison below caused me more pain. But as for Jacques Dutronc, the Francoise Hardy wikipedia page says they are still together as a couple although presently living in different places in France.

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 26, 2008 - Dude, Francoise was at the absolute TOP of her game from 64 to 67. Unstoppable. But she made some really bad career moves after that, beginning with the appalling "Francoise Hardy Blues". WTF was she doing wasting her time clowning around with those two (LaPointe and Dutonc)? She shoulda been focusing 100% on her career in the US...Also, I think her break up with Perrier did her in BTW.

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 26, 2008 - The songs off of her 1967 EP Voila (Au Fond Du Reve Dore, etc) are a milestone in her career. She would never achieve that degree of unbridled star power again. The only way to go for Francoise in 67 was up, which meant across the Atlantic, but she "chickened out".

Azorka82 Says:

Nov 26, 2008 - I don't know about all that. I was born in 1964 (Murefressboro, Tennessee; see Alma Cogan's version of 'Tennessee Waltz'--I think it's the best one). But it's fun to read comments here about Francoise.

Yitzchak1 Says:

Nov 26, 2008 - In "my book" she seems to be closest thing to perfection.. humanity could offer package and the content she is the great one, I really belive that she was a real treasure she or he knew how to open.. somehow she took a different path, that only she knew.. I belive that BMW (by the way which one?) got his assesment quite on mark. Erich Fromm used to say that very High IQ has a problem communicating with the crowd (break-down is with IQ over 120) music and song transcends those limitations

Yitzchak1 Says:

Nov 26, 2008 - Song and music transcends intelectual "bariers" because it communicates with the emotions which are much potent and deeper form of communications that "reason" and deduction could provide.. Many paradigms filter much of our "realities" the way we want to see them, music and song have ability to tap into the heart lot faster than "reason" could do.. She should use her talent and her intelect to "say" and to communicate. The ultimate beuty of life is to have the courage to matter for others

Nov 27, 2008 - After she did Entr'acte, recording wasn't her job anymore, neither her passion : she was fond of astrology. She did albums because she liked two or three songs she was asked to sing, she almost stopped writing songs. In 88 she said she wouldn't sing anymore. Then she did Le Danger in 94 and the quality is here since. Listen to "Puisque vous partez en voyage" or "Tant de belles choses", "Juste un peu d'eau", they are great as she did before.

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 27, 2008 - "I belive that BMW (by the way which one?) got his assesment quite on mark." - YitMy "assessment" ? WTF are you, an insurance broker ? What are yout talking about dude ?

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 27, 2008 - Have you guys seen the clips from Hardy´s 68 show "Francoise Hardy Blues" (youtube) ? Thats the beginning of the end right there man, the trigger, the point of no return. She lent her name to that monstruosity of a TV variety show. Adding insult to injury, some fu%$in genuis decided to pair her up with a couple of clowns like Dutronc and Lapointe.

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 27, 2008 - In 66-67 Hardy was in with coolest crowd on the planet : Rock n roll legends. She bumped elbows and rubbed shoulders with the Stones and Bob Dylan for crying out loud!! Bands that would make rock n roll HIS-TO-RY. How the fu&% does a mega-star like that end up doing "Francoise Hardy Blues". Please tell me, someone, anyone please, how is that even fu%$in possible ? I think Hardy´s manager shoulda been gotten 20 years to life for that screw up.

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 27, 2008 - Hardy´s manager shoulda been hanged for that one. Dude shoulda gotten 20 years to life for gross mismanagement of an artists career.

Yitzchak1 Says:

Nov 28, 2008 - Woah.. "WTF"?? em I? TOURIST! Just the tourist passing trough.. and hopefully not to become a part of your delirium .. pssst.. just cut the coffein down or those "vitamins" you are smoking DUDE and relax. Life is short.

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 29, 2008 - "what does 'voila' means?" - MalIts an expression, sorta means : "There you go", "there you have it" , "See what a mess you made?" , "That`s that".
