Feb 10, 2008 - You are nearly a neighbour of Sandy? I'm envious. So, he got his inspiration to play drums at age 7? I heard Sandy and "Let There Be Drums" for the first time around age 7 and wanted to play drums ever since. As life goes, it took until now (at age 44) to have the money and leisure to go out and get a kit. I wish I could find the beat sheet for LTBD.

Feb 21, 2008 - What a treat. I learned to play from his records. I could listen to a Sandy Nelson play drums anytime. Turns out, I feel the same way about him talking about drums.

Oct 24, 2007 - Like some that have already posted, Let There Be Drums was one of the first records I ever bought. A bit before my time as they say, I bought it at a garage sale of all places, and it was probably the reason I took up the drums shortly therafter. When I recently read that Sandy was also one of Terry Bozzio's main influences I knew that I was in very presitgous company in my respect and admiration for this great master of the art of drumming. Thank you Sandy.
