Sep 28, 2008 - could the bomb set off even with not us to like umm set the bomb off?
bipplybop Says:
Sep 29, 2008 - Oh, just so you all know, the bomb cannot be set of by anyone else except the people who have authorization. It probably has a mechanical lock that locks up FOR EVER, NEVER to become unlocked if the wrong digit is placed in. no reset, it will just refuse to go off. So, unless someone knows the code to set it off, they'll have to do this: To make the bomb go off, you have to : get the bomb, take it apart, take the nuclear material and make an entirely new bomb.

Sep 29, 2008 - I dont know how many were lost off the coast of Georgia but we did find one, a diver did on accident.

Oct 3, 2008 - bipplyBop are u insane? why should we trust these ass holes who can loose their bombs and think that onlythey can detonate? ever heard of accidental accidents? hello.....
danboyd12 Says:
Oct 5, 2008 - The best way to have a "accidental accident" with nuclear weapons is to simply drop it. These bombs are designed to not detonate due to the aircraft taking damage or detonating due to another nuclear explosion. However they are designed to be dropped and then explode. Pilots should never of been allowed to drop any type of nuclear weapon live or disabled whatever I dont care and any sign of trouble while training should lead to a disabling of the bomb that is permanent.
danboyd12 Says:
Oct 5, 2008 - I wonder if any accidents similar to this took place with the nuclear artillery or nuclear shells designed to be shot by battleships I have read about.

Oct 7, 2008 - There are other military secrets bigger than this. My page talks about one.
DxsupermanxD Says:
Oct 14, 2008 - how you do exactly loose a nuclear bomb ?
dezzyblade Says:
Oct 21, 2008 - It's unbelievable that a 'super-power' can act with such complacency when it came to nuclear weapons during the cold war! I can understand the carriage of nukes while on patrol and knew they were flying 24 hours a day every day for years, but to carry LIVE nukes on training missions was bordering on suicidal! Surely they could have used replica's or dummy nukes without a live core to train with! If 1 of the 'broken arrows' had've gone off, that couldve started world war 3!!!
RxBandits182 Says:
Oct 23, 2008 - There are 92 known cases of the Russians and the U.S. losing atomic bombs during the cold war
Esuavio Says:
Nov 2, 2008 - I for one am glad they lost nukes... if they hadn't, we wouldn't have wonderful books and movies from Tom Clancy and others like him!
bryennnn Says:
Nov 7, 2008 - Nukes can't just go off. We build them so that the multiple fail safes make sure that it can only be detonated by the fuse not by crashes or out side forces like explosions.
Lightslay Says:
Nov 8, 2008 - "hur dur imma flying a nookular plaen""oh ups i drop'd it over the ocean"
Pigcowgreen Says:
Nov 13, 2008 - you can find any nuclear bomb by detecting neutrons and gamma radation. This is all bullshit. Think about it... Civil/non-military anti-war news telling you about this. You would have to be active military just to know the location of the area. This is so laughtible it is not even funny
USArCOWARDS Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - Pigcowgreen,Or doesnt it prove you think your military is far greater than it really is.
indigoinut Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - things like this happen almost every day. the sad fact is that the military is not as good as they put on. when things like this happen the military will do every thing to cover it up and the info dose leak out when upset military pepole deside there should not be cover ups.
zzzbbb123456 Says:
Nov 25, 2008 - With the right detector you could find that nuke from space. It emits Alfa and Gamma radiation its easy ask any Fysics gradstudent.
ikarus19 Says:
Nov 27, 2008 - I really wish the so-called "expert" would stop saying "nookular"
rbolo29 Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - I was in the military and a missing nuclear bomb is NOT a broken arrow, it's an "EMPTY QUIVER." A reporting term to identify and report the seizure, theft, or loss of a U.S. nuclear weapon. The movie, Broken Arrow should have been EMPTY QUIVER in reality.
