Don't believe he ever got the popularity and recognition as one of the premier guitarists of our time. You had to see him live to realize just how good he really was.

Oct 30, 2008 - This is an understatement. For your information: We in Germany had in the 80ies by far the biggest live broadcasting on TV. Usually with 3 bands. It with broadcasted all over Europe. Live. It was called Rockpalast. The first Rockpalast was : Rory Gallagher, Jonny Winter, and Roger Mc Guin from the Byrd with the Guitarist Rick Vito! Later we had the Who, Little Feat, Ten Years After etc. So you will find a lot of Rory from Rockpalast on Youtube. My first LP (I was 12) was Rory G. Live in Europe.
