Nov 5, 2008 - Wow. I wouldn't have seen those moves. What was the time control?
ChessNetwork Says:
Nov 5, 2008 - =) Game: 15 minutes. Each player has 15 minutes each to play the game.

Nov 7, 2008 - y at the end he give up his queen for your rook y doesnt he just move to b7 still defending the rook but doesnt loose his queen
ChessNetwork Says:
Nov 8, 2008 - I believe he gave up his queen so as to prolong the game. Qb7 would be met with a checkmate in 3 moves, namely Rf2+ Re2 QxR+ K-(first rank)R-f1 ++.

Nov 11, 2008 - n whats the difference of grand master n national master
ChessNetwork Says:
Nov 11, 2008 - Thanks. c7-c5 in response to e4 is the Sicilian Defense.
ChessNetwork Says:
Nov 11, 2008 - Obtaining the National Master title requires a USCF rating of 2200 or better. The Grandmaster title requires a FIDE rating of 2500 or better in addition to obtaining 3 Grandmaster norms.

Dec 2, 2008 - gg Jerry well played. However, would you agree with me that the moves made by white, especially at the beginning (namely knight to A3), are inadequate for someone with a grandmaster status?? I'm not belittling your efforts but it seems to me like a bad performance by white, again as a grandmaster. Great game though and excellent easy-to-follow analysis. Keep up the good work
ChessNetwork Says:
Dec 3, 2008 - Thank you for the many compliments! We followed book lines beyond the knight move to a3. Did you have a different idea in mind instead of N-a3 in response to a6?
luke19631963 Says:
Dec 3, 2008 - The only safe square for white's knight on b5 is a3 after black's a6 pawn move. I can't find any in-between moves that would warrant sacking the knight on b5 either.
ChessNetwork Says:
Dec 3, 2008 - I agree with you. N-a3 is the only safe square for the knight.
