Jun 24, 2008 - Something I noticed that was an incomplete statement is that Ernestro7608 mentioned that the presence of God is emotion. I believe that 99% of the time that people say they felt God, it is pure emotion. However, when there is change in a heart that is like stone, and it stays that way, I believe that to be the work of God. If you have no faith, then praying is useless. If you believe it to be no good, you're simply insulting God, and it is sin. Don't play games with God, get a hobby.

Jun 24, 2008 - The reason for the symbolism is that there are some things that simply cannot be expressed in words. On the other hand, some things can be expressed in words. So I see nothing wrong with certain things being symbolic and other things not being symbolic.

Sep 7, 2008 - wonder if it says repent and be baptized. wonder if it told that to 3000 souls that were added. wonder if cornelius' house was told to repent and be baptized in Acts 8 or is it 10. wonder is john 9:31 says that God does not hear a sinner's prayer. So, a sinner can't pray and be saved. romans 10:10- ok let me stop
rdsweet Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - Here is the problem with what you are saying. It does not line up with scriptures. There is no new testament example of God behaving this way. the best place to know the Nature and presence of god is in John chapter 1, and Hebrews 1. Then you go to Hebrews 11. Faith is the only thing that a christian has not signs and wonders. Go to Matthew 16:18. Flesh and blood hath not revealed this to peter. Get in the book and get excited.

Oct 7, 2008 - Joel has a large following because he tickles ears. The kind of people who follow him aren't serious about God and Christianity. They are not willing to die to the world.

Oct 19, 2008 - A "new relationship" with sin? Now that is a little over the top. Anyway, I'm not all that impressed with Washer, and I'm a little concerned that "Way of the Master" radio seems to be too impressed with him. Here he seems to be mocking Christian witness. Everyone does NOT know they are sinners. The first step is seeing that, and then the need for a Savior, and then repenting and accepting the Savior.
koroigetsuga Says:
Oct 28, 2008 - A.N.Wilson's attempt at a historical life of Jesus throws fascinating light on post-hoc attempts by the early Christians to fit Jesus's birth into that of the prophesied Messiah, i.e by having him born in Bethlehem, an item which one of the Gospels - I think John - makes no mention of. Wilson, an ex-Christian theologian, makes a forensic study of the Gospels, concluding that a lot of it was written up to 80 years after the crucifixion by the sects founded by M,M,L and J
calvinistman Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - Unless you cultists believe what Jesus taught in the parable about the man who was forgiven his huge debts and went beating up others who had smaller debts, you will not come out of judgement. Paul Washer and all his followers are under God's judgement. They do not obey the teachings of Christ. Unless you humble yourselves and forgive others their sins and admit to God you are just as bad or worse, you are not justified by Christ. You remain in your sins and are on the path to hell.
goodmusic1981 Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Thats true, but he's just saying that this is not the end of it. Jesus told the prostitute to turn away from her sin and not to sin again. Its not enough just t beieve and then you dont forsake your sin. Jesus told the Pharisees that unless they turn away from their sin then thei shall perish.
bangolobangolo Says:
Nov 20, 2008 - Paul the Apostle and ALL early Christians were viewed as cultists, etc etc. Peter said we are considered as aliens to the world. That doesn't mean we lose our credibility in the world just means something drastic has changed within us.
FoundSheep90 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - Obviously you didn't get what Washer was preaching. A new relationship with sin is not meant in a positive way (e.g. to embrace sin) but to now hate it, to see it with God's eyes. And what's wrong with being "impressed" by preaching that tells the truth 100% biblically? It's gotten really rare the last years, and I'm really glad too I get to hear his sermons, we need to hear the truth instead of nice, warm words who make you feel comfortable.
CRoadwarrior Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - No, I "get" what Washer was preaching. I've heard many of his sermons on YT, and I find one consistent theme. He tries too hard to sound different from everyone else, and he tries to make purposefully controversial statements that are unnecessary. Even in the Bible, God did not always condemn and rebuke. THAT too is Biblical. Sometimes God says "Well done." Sometimes He says "Be of good cheer."
FoundSheep90 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - Well, first of all there's nothing wrong with preaching that leads you to repentance and humility. I wouldn't mind listening to sermons like that for the rest of my life, it's good for men. But what Washer also said is that his sermons about love never make it on the internet, though he does talk about the love of God, forgiveness etc. There actually is a love sermon on YT of him.And what matters is whether what he's saying is biblical or not, and not if he's trying too hard to be this and that.
FoundSheep90 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - And the reason why you have the impression that he's trying too hard to sound different from everyone else is because what he's saying is different from most sermons today. All you hear is "God loves you, he has a wonderful life for you, you'll get this and that, he'll fix everything for you" but never about God's holiness and how sinful we are and deserve the wrath of God... And so far I haven't heard anything unbiblical of him, so why should I stop listening to him? No..
CRoadwarrior Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - Washer sounds good here and there, but everything he says is not true. Even in this video, he makes the mistake of saying everyone knows they're a sinner. Not so. In fact, I know young people who don't even know that premarital sex is a sin. So Washer is either out of touch or just plain wrong or both. I am not saying to stop listening to him. But when he unjustly criticizes things like the "Four Spiritual Laws" approach to witnessing, he's being irrational and, to some extent, unbiblical.
