Aug 25, 2007 - According to a major Japanese newspaper, the main cause of the explosion was a fuel leak caused by a loose bolt in one of the front slats on the right wing. When the front slats were retracted after landing, the loose bolt jammed into the fuel tank and tore open a hole. The fuel leaked, and the heat from the engine caused it to ignite.
