Oct 14, 2008 - this is ridiculously entertaining.
CheesyPanda1 Says:
Oct 17, 2008 - it's only done by women. Typically 2 women. Has nothing to do with hunting but probably takes from the sounds and rythms of the arctic.

Otacon144 Says:
Nov 10, 2008 - You need to apply the harsh voice if you're going for Mongolian/Tuvan style Khoomei, with prominent overtones.Other than that, for Kargyraa, which I find easiest, it's all about experimenting with the shape of your mouth/oral cavity by positioning the tongue differently, opening the jaw wider, constricting your throat, such and such.
Otacon144 Says:
Nov 10, 2008 - I imagine you want to know how sygyt (the whistling style) is done, though. You apply the harsh voice for the base tone. The overtones are made by pressing the tongue to the roof of the mouth, but only on one side and the front; leave one of the sides relaxed.; that's how the whistle is made. It also helps if the lips are pushed out into a bell-shape on the side the tongue is open on.If I can dig up the tutorial I found, I'll share it. :)
