May 16, 2008 - i got diagnosed with RA when i was 16 so i probably make it look really easy.
tei727 Says:
May 16, 2008 - Oh wow, that sucks. Do you take it in the same place each time?
sarahisneat Says:
May 16, 2008 - yes pretty much, i alternate sides. i know your supposed to switch it up more but i have found what works for me and according to my doctor thats ok.

Jun 4, 2008 - Oh man....you take too long to do it....switch to the Auto injector!!!
tei727 Says:
Jun 4, 2008 - i switched from the pen to the syringe because it went in too fast and was very painful.
pauljj63 Says:
Jun 6, 2008 - I have been on Enbrel since Feb 2005....When I first started with the syringe, i know it took me about 30 min (one time) to stick myself!!!!...then i finally got better...but as soon as I stuck myself, I would try to release the medicine as soon as i could. As soon as the autoinjector was available...i switched, and have been on it since.....I love the autoinjector....Good Luck!!!!!

Jun 10, 2008 - I hate seeing needles so I had to go with the autopen. Kind'a funny, a fireman who hates giving injections. luckily I found that I have a numb spot on the side of my right thigh, so thats where I've been giving myself the injections. I don't have to see it, I don't have to push it in and I don't have to feel it (much).
My03Tundra Says:
Jun 20, 2008 - Yikes... Sorry for your RA and having to endure the needles. You'd think that since they have pain "pumps" that there'd be a more effective and efficient way for a medicine such as Enbrel to be injected.

Jun 24, 2008 - Thanks for your video. I've been on Enbrel .50 ML/wkly for 2 months now. I felt awesome results by the third week. :) I also inject MTX wkly. MTX pills made me vomit. I find that leaving the Enbrel syringe @ room temp for 15-20 minutes takes the edge off of the sting of the injection. I haven't tried injecting it into my stomach yet. I'm still trying to get over my fear of needles while doing all this! Your video is a great service to other patients. Kindest Regards.

Jul 18, 2008 - Oh Man, that brings back the memories.I took enbrel for a while until my insurancegave out. (It only covered the first $5000.00of my medications per year.) well anywayWhile you wait for it to warm up place iceon the injection site, that helps.I have had RA since june 2004.
tei727 Says:
Jul 18, 2008 - Thanks! I'm going to try te ice next time. I've gotten better at it now and inject the medicine a bit faster. I am very fortunate and grateful to have adequate insurance.

Jul 30, 2008 - I finally did an injection in my abdomen about 5 minutes ago and it was a heck of alot better than in my thigh. I just grabbed a bit, held it at 45 degrees, jabbed it in and pushed. Give it a try. I'll try to remember to record it next time.
tei727 Says:
Sep 29, 2008 - thank you for the kind words! i have been injecting into my abdomen lately. big step! lol.. i plan to record it,

Nov 7, 2008 - that would be pretty cool. im too scared to try it in the abdomen (i feel like i might poke something important) hehehe but yea you should record it! :)

sarahisneat Says:
May 16, 2008 - you prolong the pain so much!! I have been taking enbrel for 2 years now. take it in an area such as your stomach where there is more fatty tissue, you wont even feel the needle. Take it a little more quickly i promise you a more pleasant expirience.
