Wednesday 10-23-07 We started the day at Hiroshima and ended on Miyajima. For me, it was the best location on the whole trip. Off the coast in the Pacific, this little sacred island is guarded by the "floating torii". Giving birth or dying on the island is strictly forbidden and bad luck. Fortunately, we caused no trouble. Rick missed the ferry, but as you'll see, he caught up with us. The deer are sacred and run free. There's an aquarium, a monkey preserve at the top of the mountain...
