Ohad, I disagree, if anything it's more communist, with the smurf's helping each other, there is no named reference of Gargamel being jewish, and actually sometimes he even helps out the smurfs! If you had said smurfs are communists then I would have understood, also there was a recent smurf book called "The menace smurfs" in which the menace smurfs were fascist, but beaten by the good smurfs! So I think you're argument is rather flawed.

Oct 13, 2008 - I think this idea of communism among the Smurfs doesn't make any sense. Like many people from fairies' realm, they live in communion with nature, respect it, take their own livelihood from earth, don't deal with money (they are not like leprechauns and gnomes, who would take care of gold and precious minerals), help each other... The first communities also lived this way much before communism appeared. Just that.
