Aug 29, 2008 - Every year towards the end of the season we have what is called the pond skimming competition. Snowboarder and skiers compete to win a couple thousand dollars for who can go the farthest distance. You start up high on the scaffold and then work your way down. Each time it gets harder. Skiers have an advantage at the end as they can skate to gain speed before hitting the water. Do a search for pond skimming and you will find several resorts that to it annually.
