Mar 31, 2008 - The discrimination this woman encountered was heinous. People should realize that what she faced had nothing to do with the country she was living in, but had to do with the individual she encountered.I would agree with those calling the US a horrible and disgusting country IF it was found that her employer had NOT discriminated against her, but in actuality it was found that he HAD. How can you say America is a horrible country when this woman found justice in its laws?

Mar 31, 2008 - I know of someone, a person of Arab origin, who grew up in Canada. He said he was discriminated against on a daily basis by his neighbors, being told to go back to Pakistan and the like. Don't act like Canada doesn't have any discriminatory issues, because it does.The US has come a long way in terms of trying to stomp out discrimination. So many laws have been put into place that assure that when people like this women are discriminated against retribution can be served.

May 3, 2008 - I just came across this video of Sukhvir Kaur and i was upset by what she had to go through. How upsetting that we live in cosmopolitan cities, yet individuals like Sukhvir are degraded. I'm so pleased she got the justice she rightly deserves. Sikhs like Sukhvir, who stand up for their religious identity, make me so proud to be a Sikh too.

May 10, 2008 - I grew up in the central valley of California and there were alot of sikhs. It was those black and ethnic kids (mostly Mexicans)in high school who were mean to sikhs always taking their turbans off and other things.

Nowehere, atleast in India we have some leverage by using minority status, bending the law, mob violence since Hindus are very tolerant. But here, no one cares. Aug 17, 2008 - I agree with sarbatsangat to a great extent. We have done lot of law manipulation, owing to our minority status particularly post 84 era. Aren't we little hypocritical here. We leave our country and land thousand miles and then talk about preserving our culture, and how important it is to us. May be I am too young and naive to understand this

Sep 23, 2008 - America looks like a country that needs to be taught a big lesson- Sikhs are spritual soldiers, and are not hippies. sikhs are serious people and regard all of man kind as 1 human race. Sikhs in america sud learn from such events and solutions in the uk and canada, to prevent adverse outcomes. Maybe a sarbat khalsa of america is needed to find a resolution to the problems of all communities in america?
