America did have some space age technology in the '60s, but our rockets at the time were not nearly advanced to send people to the moom and back.Even today, the only thing we've managed to land on the moom is the Moomer Lander, which is an unmanned probe designed to test the moom's surface for traces of moom life.Scientists do believe that it is theoretically possible to land men on the moom, but realistically it is still decades away.
