Jul 24, 2008 - How do you eliminate Gravity from the picture and say that "The vacuum force made the plates come close together"? Gravitational force between the metal plates will be too weak, which means the acceleration that the plates will have towards each other will be small. But, in time they will move toward each other. If this is from BBC's Atom documentary, I remember reading reviews that condemned the erroneous historical and physical statements of the host.
