Apr 6, 2008 - my gun dealer says a 223 has a range of 200 yards this cant be right can it?? ime thinking of getting one my self for foxes and deer? good choice or is there something that would be better?

musclefox223 Says:

Apr 6, 2008 - Tel your dealer he hasnt got a clue what hes talking about the idiot. The 223 is the same cal the british army uses (5.56)I have shot many of my foxes over 300 yards with clean kills every time, with over 100 last year.If you want an all round cal for foxes and deer why not go for a 243, it also depends what deer you want to shoot and what part of the uk you live as there are different restrictions for different areas..Hope this helps..

Apr 8, 2008 - thanx for the advice

Polkaten Says:

Apr 19, 2008 - Which would be the better caliber for target shooting 300yds and over, .223 or .308? Any advice?

musclefox223 Says:

Apr 19, 2008 - Hi i would go for the 308 for target shooting 300 yards and over..

Polkaten Says:

Apr 20, 2008 - Cheers, thanks for the reply.

manso1102 Says:

May 11, 2008 - im personally a fan of the .308. the best all around in my opinion. just recently got the t3 big boar .308 and no complaints so far!

Jun 5, 2008 - 308. buddy, u cant go wrong with it

tacfoley Says:

Jun 19, 2008 - 'One shot, one kill' the 'shooter' remarks. I don't think so.I am considerably less than impressed by the shooting, but VERY impressed with the courage shown by the bloons in the face of what appear to have been a barrage of very lucky shots. Oh yes, I know it's .223, but there is some VERY good 80gr Hornady Match ammunition that might, in the right hands, have put these bloons out of their misery a lot sooner. tac - 33 years a soldier

flammo69 Says:

Jun 19, 2008 - he's aiming at targets barely over a 1MOA at 500yards so i understand they wont all hit those balloons, they offer little margin for error even if rifle groups consistantly 1/2MOA. good try anyways. are you holding off or Dialing in your shots?

musclefox223 Says:

Jun 19, 2008 - Listen sunshine i took 3 shots and hit 3 targets and its me who says one shot one kill, my mate also shoots and he misses the ones your on about,33 years a soldier, so effin what , do you want a medal or something!!!

musclefox223 Says:

Jun 20, 2008 - On this day we are holding off the shots and using nato 5.56 ammo..

bodders1029 Says:

Jun 21, 2008 - and thirty three years of knowing everything!'You' ought to be put out of 'your' miseryGood genuine video boys!

musclefox223 Says:

Jun 22, 2008 - Thanks bodders1029, on this day we were using cheap 5.56 nato rounds, but if i were using my federal ammo which i use on my foxes then the balloons would be a lot smaller, with the nato rounds being £15 for 50 and the federal being £14 for 20, i dont want to waste good ammo on a bit of fun and practice..

Polkaten Says:

Jun 22, 2008 - Good point, I know soldiers who are absolutely desperate shots.

deadlydelta Says:

Jul 27, 2008 - hey good shooting its really hard at 500+. and you people on here leave bad comments about these guys should shut up. go play halo3

musclefox223 Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - Very true mate, i bet theres a few on here who just talk the talk, me and this lad had over 80 foxes last year and i took most of the shots at 300+ at night, of course i always try and get them within 100-150 yards but when you have other poachers about the foxes become very wary and this is why im confident taking shots at these ranges..

deadlydelta Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - really 80 foxes that great. i just started coyote hunting this year and its really not that easy. me and my brother both have tikka his is in a 22-250 and mine is in .223. i love the the fact the people always say " why don't get 22-250,.234 or 308. well all those rounds r a buck a picec and if you shoot 80 or more a year that would cost alot.

270270wsm Says:

Sep 8, 2008 - that tac-33 sounds like a homo who cant put his own videos up cause hes to shit, but he is correct about hornady ammo i use 75g hornady amax, and they take down deer with ease and is extreamly accurit

musclefox223 Says:

Sep 8, 2008 - Hi deadlydelta i have a good mate in canada who regulary who shoots a tikka22-250 and he shoots quite a lot, you might have heard of him, WOLF PREDATOR PRODUCTIONS.

reloader2208 Says:

Sep 12, 2008 - thats some nice shooting, the closest to that ive shot is with my bruno mod 2 .22 believe it or not!foot by foot tin plate at 400 yards.to all those people who would say im full of it well some people can shoot and others cant

musclefox223 Says:

Sep 13, 2008 - Reloader2208 i believe you because i can shoot pretty well and not just in calm light conditions, most who comment shite on here just cant shoot so if they cant do it know one can, they should put their money where their mouth is or just keep their crappy comments to themselves..enough said, keep up the good safe shooting you good guys...

fishyglen Says:

Sep 13, 2008 - Im reloaders brother and that was well said

reloader2208 Says:

Sep 15, 2008 - thanks mate! and not to have a go at people that cant shoot it all just depends on how and where youve been brought up. my father has a tikka m55 in .243 and its allways shot dead on and its seen many pigs, foxes and goats remove from properties in western queensland, im saving for my own tikka at the moment and thanks for the support

gragrn Says:

Oct 28, 2008 - Good shooting. Good choice of rifle. I used to have a Tikka M55 in .308, wish I didn't sell it!
