Aug 18, 2007 - Nice. How fast can it go on a flat street and how does it handle inclines?

videomandw Says:

Aug 19, 2007 - it depends on the angle and length of the incline. The video explains that the e-bike will slow to about 12mph on the inclines that were tested and speeds up to about 22-23 mph going downhill. hope that helps, thank you for your interest.david welchShining Star video Productions

Nov 15, 2007 - so where does one buy the kit? what's the range and speed (approx) ?

videomandw Says:

Nov 21, 2007 - the batteries are only 12 volts each and not enough voltage to shock the rider. plus they are housed in a back and do not come into contact with the rider.david welch

Nov 22, 2007 - hello,it's all what you want in your ebike. i have had the ebike in the video up to 22 mph and that is plenty fast on a bicycle. if anything i would try to extend the range of the ebike. the bike in the video will get about 18-20 miles per charge in real world riding. i would definitely spend a little extra for the 10ah exteneded battery pack. it is well worth it. david welchshining star video productions

Nov 23, 2007 - The motor wire should exit towards the ground, so that if and when you bike in the rain, water won't follow the wire INTO the motor ! loop the cable so water drips to the ground.! fyi !

videomandw Says:

Nov 24, 2007 - yes, it is similar except for the electric motor. there are a lot of gas conversion kits as you mentioned available. i chose to convert my bike to electric to get away from fossil fuels and to avoid smelling the exhaust from gas engines, especially the 2 cycle ones. this bike is a joy to build, start and ride. it is economical, dependable (electric motors like these have been in use for over a century) and extremely quiet. david welchshining star video productions
