Rocky Balboa - Review

Nov 7, 2008 - i mean stallone didn't completly abandon 5 but he never used any references to it in balboa. you hear nothing about tommy gun or Rocky's brain damage. But correct me if im wrong but didnt he go back to wearing his old close in 5 so he would accully be wearing what he wore in the 1st one. He doesnt make mention that rocky is broke in balboa he runs a successfu restraunt.

Just because there was no reference to brain damage or tommy gunn dosen't mean that rocky 5 never happened. I mean did you hear from clubber lang or ivan drago after the fight's to see if they quit boxing and got jobs at wall mart.

Nov 15, 2008 - Two complaints about what was missing was actually cut out of the film. Sly's first cut of the movie ran abut 150 min. MGM said "No. We're not releasing this at 150 min. Cut it down to 105 min." and that's what happened. The brain damage angle was addressed in one of the cut scenes (not on the DVD), as was a new song from Survivor (called "Fire Makes Steel") written for a training montage that was to happen before the Gonna Fly Now montage. MGM said "You don't need two training montages. Pick 1"

Nov 16, 2008 - Well mostly because "Rocky IV" isn't a movie. It's 8 music videos with some dialogue thrown in every so often (which is sad because Sly's shooting script was excellently-written). Say what you want about "Rocky V", but it's actually a film, something IV is barely on its best day. ;) I don't know how RB would feel at 150 minutes, but even in theaters, I felt the film moved at breakneck pace... and that's why: it's missing about 45 minutes!

Nov 17, 2008 - That's actually a good question. Maybe it was given to her, because it was probably Adrian that got her back on the right track, from hanging out with the wrong crowds. Then again that's just my theory.
