Aug 29, 2008 - BELO!!!!
montallio Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - No wonder Pavarotti thought he was the greatest. Beatifull natural voice. He also manages to seem to "speak" during this difficult aria.
GermanOperaSinger Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - Only Pavarotti himself came close to this man's perfection in the role of Rodolfo.
sentibravo Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - The most beautiful version I've ever heard and I've heard them all. Even his studio recording wasn't as good as this. Obviously just the perfect day when voice , intellect, language , heart and soul all merged to make a performance with such divine purity it makes you weep. Truly grateful that this was captured and thank you so much for posting it.

Aug 29, 2008 - Di Stepano will never be forgotten! No doubt he was one of the best opera singer of all times...God blessed his voice a million times!!!!

Aug 29, 2008 - He really sings this as if he just met his inspiration, the love of his life. Splendid!

Aug 29, 2008 - Love Di Stefano's voice, but his higher register bothers me, sounds like he has film in his throat holding back the note. Hard to explain..

Aug 29, 2008 - bellissima versione! "chi sono chi soooooono!" ogni volta adoro quel pezzo + delle note alte.wonderful rendition! everytime i listen to that sentence i get shivers. more than the highest notes
Mooorhe Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - People just don't sing like this any more! Pavarotti was the last of the greats.Bravo Di stefano
Andante735 Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - I can't explain what you're hearing either. His high notes were glorious. Perhaps it's the recordings you've listened to, or you're not used to hearing a fully open sound - film in his throat? Anyone else here want to comment on this?
Yoni89 Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - Name other tenors with fully open sounds, I'll let you know if I've heard them. I'm not saying I don't like Di Stefano's voice, I love.. But his high notes.. something about them- I'm not sure.. sounds like he has honey in his throat!!

Aug 29, 2008 - I have been Di Stefano's fan since 1956. And I never get to like Pavorotti(his fake smile!) or Domingo( his aloofness for nothing!) and I cannot provide a good reason other than those! It could be because I have heard the best, the others are nothing except Bjoerling.---dancewu(dot)net
Mooorhe Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - I highly doubt Pavarotti's smile was fake, he loved singing and he always appreciated the applause like no other.Either way, Pavarotti and Di Stefano were some of the greatest singers ever.

Aug 29, 2008 - PERFEKT!
mgbushido Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - The sheer beauty of voice is unmatched, the timbre is unmistakable, and the interpretation is often copied but never equaled. That is Di Stefano.
Artisticz Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - the way he sang was an incorrect technique & that lead to his rapid decline.Pavarotti does more than equal this Aria.
Artisticz Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - they do sound alittle forced.
Corenero Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - At last somebody said the truth. Bravo Mooorhe for this words.
mgbushido Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - Myself, I can't sing a note, so I can't comment on the technique. But I have listened well. I do prefer Di Stefano.I guess it's all in what you like.
