Sep 7, 2008 - Really good song...if I had a rock band I'd cover this one!

Sep 7, 2008 - Why does this video make me want to move to England and meet myself an English gentleman?
miecy2miecy Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - Now, I love Level 42. And this is coming from a black female, but hands down EWF is better than Level 42. The Verdine White, the bassist of EWF produced L42. So there is no question L42 was influence by EWF. But as far as Blue Eyed Soul goes, Level 42 is best band hands down.

Sep 7, 2008 - Man, Mark has mad skills on the bass. I never really thought about his playing until watching this clip.
t308madness Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - Rolling Stone Magazine had him listed as the fastest bass player ever. OH by the way, if you look closely, he is chewing gum, ahahah. In between lyrics he chews a little. ahahaha

Sep 7, 2008 - I'm with you ...I love this song. A new singer Anthony David from Atlanta made a cover of this song. Great song. You should try to listen to their song "It's Over" too.
miecy2miecy Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - It's Over? Is that on youtube. I must check it out.
miecy2miecy Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - I just found It's Over and listened to it for the first time. Very pretty song, not the best song to listen to after you been stood up for a date.
mrhughes00 Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - he's killin' that bass
glandt Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - And killing that chewing gum!
4difference Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - killing the lyrics too!!!
TimmyCrackCorn Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - Nothing against his bass playing, or the song -- I think both are great. But have they ever seen Geddy Lee tear up his bass? And he is so clean while he's doing it. Or countless others. Mark is good, but not a great.
corigraves Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - well its a matter of opinion and taste too .. for myself Mark has always been more the enough .. just 'something about him' ;) !
4difference Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - actually if you ask me i could give you a million level 42 songs to listen. love games is a good one if you don't know them very well yet
TimmyCrackCorn Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - True, Cori, but I was specifically referring to RS's supposed rating of him as fastest bass player ever. Not that playing fast makes you great either, but I was just pointing out that there are faster (and IMHO, better) bass players for sure. Then again, consider the source ... Rolling Stone's top Guitar players of all time was a joke/travesty. But anyway, I definitely admire Mark's style and his vision to bring that funk/bass sound strongly into the pop arena.
gbgoul Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - He layed that bass in the pocket and singing vocal on top of that - give the man his due - nice sound, good songs and check out the presentation!!
