And also, I reiterate that, at least simply being near DU, is not hazardous. I also reiterate that I could carry a DU shell around with me all my life and I probably wouldn't suffer any negative health effects. Although, considering I don't support the Iraq War and have no plans on joining the military, my putting that to the test is unlikely, sorry. :(

Sometimes the negative effects of said metals will however cause negative side effects before they can be filtered Naturally. HOWEVER, modern medicine has VERY effective ways of filtering out most of these contaminates with littile ill side effects to speak of.

But EVERY single one of those men who did die knew the risks of being in the military when they signed up. Soldiers Die, it's sad but it's true. Aug 29, 2008 - I was in the gulf war, I served on the front line with the 24th in iraq and was in and around vehicles destroyed by this stuff. I am sick and my son has 5 severe birth defects of his heart and has to take hormone shots for the rest of is life. I know it may be hard for some of out there to believe but there are people who love this country enough to risk our lives for your freedom.
