Aug 29, 2008 - I dont really know that may be to much.I just got mine put togather.Kolb Diesel told me it should be about 550-600hp.my first pull with it is next month.I used a 4430 to pull for about 3 years.

Samswiss Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - ok, let me know how it went. good luck.

Aug 29, 2008 - figured out my pump timing we are at 31deg i dont know if our higher rpms matter.

JohnDeereA219 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - my friend and i are building a 4430 to run hot farm with, how much does your tractor weigh without weights and what all did you do to lighten it up

Samswiss Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - It does matter. that's for sure. but may be not that much. We put it now at 26 deg.Check out my new vid. We will try this weekend with a smaller turbo set up.

Samswiss Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Hey JohnDeereA219Ours is now empty about 3900kg (3,9ton) What we took out/off: Pto Drive, hydraulic block, 3 point linkage, everything i don't need anymore. We put lighter rims on (two 2mm thick cones)instaed of the castiron ones. There is still a lot to take off: I think with a lighter front axle and a selfmade front part what hold's the axle you could come down easely another 400kg, maybe more. A friend of mine brought it down to 3,2 ton.

Aug 29, 2008 - YEA!!! i live near there and i have seen some SWEET pulls up there

pkl4450 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - we got her running today!! i will have a video 4 u 2 see. we need to get our egts down now we ran 1532deg f. a little hot! but it runs like a charm. wondering what you run for egts? we pull friday night i will tape it and let ytou know how me do.

Samswiss Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Congrats. looking forward to ur vid.1532 deg F is equal to 833 deg C. is that right? egts means exaust temperature? We have changed our turbo and we run now with around 70psi inlet pressure after the turbo while pulling. the inlet temp at that place is 300 deg. C. (570 deg fahrenheit)This temp is not a problem, but limit with that pressure. more than 330 could blow the turbo at 70 psi.Exaust pressure is 3,2bar (46psi) Temperature is 1030 deg C. (1886 deg F) more than 1200 is dangerous.

Samswiss Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - The Turbo is now the same as we had first (The one who blew up with the exaust fire). with the new cam it's working great now. last pull we drove in 7th gear with 27 kmh wheel speed and 4.5tons weight. -> first place! ;-)Injection time is around 26 degrees. Pump is set at 660 ccm.

pkl4450 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - egt is exhaust gas temperature. we gave it more fuel and more timing to help cool it down. we are set at 550cc fuel timed at 34 deg and 1580deg F. our tucbo is 40 psi exaust and 40 psi intake. not much but this is just holding brakes on the road. you say you are over 1800 deg F?

pkl4450 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - we leave in 4 hours for the first run!! i will let you know how it goes. hopefully it dosent blow up!

Samswiss Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - yap. you will see, it will go up more in front of the sledge. That's very good that you have the same presure at intake and exaust manifold. Before we had the cam done it went up to 2100 deg Fahrenheit. then the turbo bluw up. With 1800 it's ok. If the presure doesn't go over 60 psi on exaust side it should not be a problem at all.I'm driving constantly with around 1800 deg Fahrenheit in front of the sledge.Good Luck for your pull. I can't wait to hear how it went. All the best.Samswiss

pkl4450 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - check out (deerfield pull one) my friend put it up. i have to put my video up still. we won 1st out of 12 pretty good other than we blew our charger in the second one. any advice on the turbo?

Samswiss Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - what kind of turbo do you have exactly: intake housing? exaust housing? mesurements?Temperatures while pulling? Pressures while pulling?

pkl4450 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - turbo size in 2.6inches in and 3 inches out. 19mm exhaust housing.its a holset H2e slotted. our intake was 42psi and exhaust was 42. the exhaust temp was 1669. the bearings went to hell. any sugestions??

acuarofilio Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - the name the tractor wath is?

tjenuwine Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Time for water injection don't you think?

Samswiss Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Well... yes.But then i have to change to the prostock cathegory. In "my" 4,5 ton Sport class it is not allowed to inject water. We will see in future... maybe on another Tractor.

Aug 29, 2008 - Hey guys.. I like the 6-cylinder, I'm quite a fan of them, all my trucks have them.. Not diesel..Fuel injected gas. One you've heard but.. Is that a gas or diesel 6?? I've used both and do recommend both, good power and torque..Do you have fuel-injection?? Post a video of 2008 if you can, would love to see your performance..:-)) USA Eric F.
