Aug 29, 2008 - Thanks for the fight, rchunah! JUst a reminder to the non Holmes fans, Jones qualified himself for this title shot by defeating Mike Weaver for the NABF. Weaver won the WBA title this same evening against Tate.

Jones I believe was the heaviest and tallest boxer Holmes defended against up until this point. So if someone tells you Leroy Jones was another nobody Holmes defended against, just show then a picture of Mike Weaver and say,"This is the man who lost the NABF title bout to Leroy Jones"

Aug 29, 2008 - I remember watching Larry Holmes defend his title on television for free. This really brings back memories when I would watch these fights with my dad. It got to a point in this fight where I actually started feeling sorry for Jones because it became more and more obivious that he didn't stand a chance. Larry is truely one of the all-time greats and was one of my childhood sports heros! Thank You for uploading this fight and for giving me nice flashbacks to my early days!
