Oct 20, 2007 - The cretinous response above is typical of those who buy into the horrid actions perpetuated by the cabal in power; can't blame you though. Ignorance is rampant in America. How else could 'the decider' with a grade five vocabulary be made ruler of the so-called 'free world?'The video proves, if anything, that 'torture' is not nor should be a part of any rulers agenda. Barbaric!

Oct 24, 2007 - I'm appalled at any human that feels it is okay to torture another human being under any circumstances no matter which administration enacted the process. Spineless to think "BARBARIC", I think "NOT".

Jan 18, 2008 - In the end, Canada apologized and gave Arar $10 million. The US still keeps Arar on it's 'watch list' and he is barred from US travel. That made it easy for the courts there to dismiss his suit under guize of "national security" concerns. No apology from the US...No court case.Case closed. So much for truth, justice...in the American way.

Jan 22, 2008 - Things like this have gone on for a long time...hidden. But think of this too...such an amazing freedom...the freedom of speech. History is a long time....Things cannot remain like this forever. In time, the American people will demand true change...and they will get it. Use the freedom of speech.

Apr 22, 2008 - What happened to Maher Arar is extremely extremely unfortunate and a shocking indictment of the many excesses of the Bush administration in terms of dealing with a genuine threat of terrorism. Maher Arar seems to be a decent man and if there was any evidence of any wrongdoing on his part he should have been tried within the framework of the law instead of being tortured in a manner that was totally outside the scope of the legal system.

Sep 20, 2008 - You don't seem to get it. Maher Arar could really be anyone. The fact that he is a Canadian citizen that was tortured by the US has shaken me to the core. Both countries are fragile democracies now.(the US can't say they didn't know- unless they are under 7 yrs old). We must do what we can to restore our countries from police-state status. The US is a country that tortures. Do everything you can to change that and involvment in your illegal war in Iraq.
