Nov 5, 2007 - Fashion history- the filmaker is poking fun at the fact that they are off-kilter. Think of me wearing an 80s side ponytail and a scrunchie, acting as if that were contemparary to another person in 70s platform shoes and a lesuire suit.I think the actual intent was pre revolutionary french v. british fashions, or old establishment v. the new. JMO.

Nov 5, 2007 - In reference to "waist watch"...

Nov 13, 2007 - OMG LOL!! Though I liked the movie (McAvoy, anyone?) your little comments made me laugh. The waistwatch and Farscape nearly killed me! BTW I agree with mrsdarcy's opinion about the feminist Austen- which is probably why I wasn't so turned off by this film (and I'm not ashamed about saying this!). Anyways, nice job : )

Jan 6, 2008 - the film itself was just "so so" even with Anne Hathway & James McAvoy (who I adore) as the leads. Clips 2:28 - 3:35 was funny! ur quote from clip 4:56 reminded me of Mansfield Park(movie) when Edmund says to Fanny "clearly u & i r beyond saying when words r clearly not enoughh."

Jan 28, 2008 - remember there was no reliable contraception in those days so marrying without enough to keep a family was just not all that smart

Feb 5, 2008 - This was awesome and hilarious! Understanding that the film's premise was completely ridiculous, I still found myself liking it in a cookie-cutter romantic (drama? dramedy?)kind of way, but I love the "Movie in Fifteen Minutes" kind of comments you throw out that show just how ridiculous it is.Because Jane Austen just needed...a dude. An unsupportive dude.[deserves better than jane] Hilarious!

Apr 4, 2008 - didn't see the movie, but loved the little "waistwatch" bits-it's so true!(except I think her waist is closer to 18-teens)

Jul 23, 2008 - James McAvoy is hot...That being said - this story as a movie totally isn't believable, for just some of the reasons you pointed out. Though I have to ask, what does the whole waistwatch thing mean? o.O

Oct 20, 2008 - these were all the scenes from the movie i was looking for without people adding douche bag music to it. i can handle the douche bag comments because why would a douche bag get jane austen or why women would go for this tragic love story stuff? james mcalvoy IS hot and we all fell for him and your last comment just shows what a bunch a dumb douches you all are. ah, but still smart enough to pick the best clips of the movie!!! thank you!
