Jul 30, 2008 - The colour green was a metaphor for no sleeves in the olden days of yore. Also Henry 8th was actually a Swede, so, as the violinist is a Finn it all makes sense. Or a turnip.

Jul 31, 2008 - To crown all, she's a Finland-Swede XD

Aug 14, 2008 - yeah right after he killed his wife
brezairola Says:
Aug 17, 2008 - ha ha ha - you are funny. Yes Miriam Blennerhassett was in the VHS of Riverdance. Anuna left Riverdance in 1996. I assume the other singers are still alive.
brezairola Says:
Aug 17, 2008 - Was it a legend that he wrote the song or that he killed his wife?
fun555555555 Says:
Aug 17, 2008 - he wrote it after he killed his wife that's part of it.
brezairola Says:
Aug 17, 2008 - Maybe it was a celebratory ode to her decapitated body, and someone changed the words "headless corpse" to "Greensleeves". I suppose it is as good a theory as any.
goliath6190 Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - same here. i listen to this song 1-3 times a day its such a great song with the strings and the lyrics
Heptarch7 Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - Anuna's version of Scarborough Fair is truly haunting.
brezairola Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - So the legend is that he wrote the piece after he killed his wife, who wore Greensleeves. Great!
NiXy0000 Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - bello
FoamingChicken Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - For who the person wrote that this was written after he killed his wife. Not true it's argued two things. If true he either wrote this for a prostitute he loved (back then woman of questionable virtue advertised with green dresses) or it was a ballad to a lost love before his second wife. Obviously that's not proven but that's the accepted myth behind the song
brezairola Says:
Aug 22, 2008 - Thank you - that has clarified everything!

Aug 23, 2008 - *________*
