Oct 28, 2008 - I saw the movie about Wesley "WESLEY WILLIS'S JOYRIDES" at the Chicago International Film Festival this evening. He was a very sick man that was exploited and treated like a modern day minstrel show act. How could you dance and laugh at him when he was dying? It was obvious he was sick and no one cared. He was treated like a dog. I hope he is in a better place now. A place where there is compassion, empathy and respect. THIS MAN NEEDED HELP instead you laughed and mocked him. SHAME!

Oct 29, 2008 - how would you have helped him? i haven't seen the documentary, so maybe he was exploited in ways i'm not aware of. but he was treated with a lot of respect both times i went to see his shows. there are always some mockers, but most people enjoyed seeing someone doing what he loved and had a good time with him. sick people should be allowed to have fun, too.
