Aug 30, 2007 - Shame about the vibrato in his voice. Sure it gives him power but, dude, it's not a binary vocal quality. How do you tell the difference between vibrato as an effect and a trill when all you get is a wobble wide enough to drive an 18-wheeler rig through? Can't tell what day is without night. At least the band is good and his change of registers is decent.

Next Saturday's performance (September 29th) will be broadcast live from 18.00 GMT (that's 13.00 or 14.00 EDT, I believe) on Dutch Radio 4 - it has a web channel. Google "NPS Opera Live" or keep an eye on the listings for Saturday the 29th at operacast dot com .

Jun 16, 2008 - Bejun's voice as a boy was marvelous. This is the first I've heard him sing as an adult. Still good, but his soprano was so much more sweet. His father was my piano instructor in college, 7 years after his soprano recordings were made. And he sang "Amahl and the Night Visitors" with a high school friend of mine from choir, back in the early '80s.
