Nov 30, 2008 - No question about Renzo being a great fighter. But Oleg is a great fighter and MMA pioneer as well. The sad thing about Oleg, he wasn't able to maximize his potential. He had excellent performances early on including fights with Ken Shamrock and Marco Ruas. But his personal troubles including an arrest affected his career. He goes to fights obviously in bad shape and without preparations. At some point he had no access to right nutrition and training. Black Belt Magazine run his story in 90's

Back then MMA fighters are on their own seeking for fights and training opportunities. Prizes were cheap. At one point Oleg who barely speak english lived at Ken Shamrock's garage according to Black Belt Magazine.

Nov 30, 2008 - Behind scene it was a touching story when Oleg fought Ken Shamrock, a guy who fed him and let him stay in his garage for a month or so. Oleg had been to a lot of hell. His life was full of drama. He should have been better if he stayed in the Russian Army.
