Aug 29, 2008 - ive been looking for this cartoon for YEARS for my mother! she couldnt remember the name all she remembered about it was a little black hopping bird! youve made her very happy thank you :)

marnerbroman Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - because of the copyright laws back thenand no it's not racist

87fg Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Yes it is, look it is blackface. Yet it is not surprising considering it was made by whites.

marnerbroman Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - what blackface?

87fg Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - blackface was the central theme in the mintrel show, when white actors would put on brown make-up and act black based on stereotypes of the day. This was common in movies, vaudeville, and, theatrical cartoon shorts. I'm guessing your white seeing as you do not know.

marnerbroman Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - ok two thingsdid you know that whiteface is regular clowns and yet redheads are ok with itthis is a a afican boy not a white guy in blackface and inki is doing "cavemen" thingsdon't let those GEICO Cavemen hear this they may find it offensivewhy do

Aug 29, 2008 - Fabulous animation, especially the lion. A forgotten gem, I love it.

87fg Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Regular clowns were not intended to demean a race of people. This is why racial reconciliation is not possible. Clearly you have never seen racist caricature before. Also I would like to point out the fact that the first homo sapiens came from Africa. I'm merely pointing out historical fact, racism is always part of pop culture.

87fg Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - I do not want it censored, because it has historical value. A vast majority of whites hold negative views of blacks, it is silly to say it is a more tolerant society.

FirstClassHeel Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Cuz people think the Inki cartoons are racist. I don't think they're racist (and I'm black); I just think they're surreal (especially with that mynah bird).

VLADIMIRJUANOVICH Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - what's the name of the composition and who was the compositor of the walking raven's march?

Sumaya54 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Of course cartoons of this era are surreal. But they beat the tar out of what kids watch now. I'll take the oldies over Sponge Bob any day!

setheurovision94 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Amen to that!

kuzmo86 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - In case this has not been answered (cba to look up all posts) : The 'walking minah bird theme song' is Mendelssohn's "Fingal's Cave" .... Hope this helps :-)

ArcaneAzmadi Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Another one of the classics. The Caveman Inki shorts have always stuck with me from childhood, largely because of the Mynah's iconic theme music.

bibleanddisneyfan Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - I may have this on DVD. I love this one! Thanks for posting!

assblaster61 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Inki rocks!

fajats Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - I LOVEEEEE FINGALS CAVE thanks to the hilarious character of the Mynah Bird

RAFONExThEOnE Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - o-o..ke..

Marbles471 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - marnerbroman, it's silly to compare blackface minstrel shows with clowns' white faces. The former was meant as racial mockery, the latter was not. BIG difference. And 87fg, it's foolish to take relatively trivial misunderstandings like that and make the giant leap of "this is why racial reconciliation is not possible." (!!!)

Listerino Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Thanks for posting. Was nice to remember the minah bird. Always thought he was cute.

HomoHammedtheProfit Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - I have been humming this theme song for 45 years - literally. Do you happen to know what the Looney Tune "Robot Assembly Line" song is??

SilverGalford Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - i like when all the forest is moving and then appear minah LOL.
