Apr 15, 2007 - thats is friggin awesome. the sound comes from under the box right?

pantomaz Says:

Apr 17, 2007 - So simple... isn't it?:D No we couldn't fly... we would levitate in one point and the sound would steer our move.

fattyhidalgo Says:

Apr 18, 2007 - PhD student at Lehigh University in mechanical engineering. You rule!

AWESEMO5000 Says:

Apr 18, 2007 - i'm confused, is the anti-gravity field being created by the resonance effect coming from teh speakers? Or are the speakers merely controlling the xyz co-ordinates of the object inside (and therefore the antigravity is created by some other means).Yes coral coast is what i thought of also. GOing to buy Waiting for agnus soon just heard about it. Makes for a rather sad and amazing love story too. I think Ed was supressed thats why his info never got out.

ffunit Says:

Apr 19, 2007 - this seems to be an effect of resonance but what i understood about resonance was that if the natural frequency of teh object were to be matched by some other source then it would collapse or explode or what ever so it is safe to assume that you guys are just on the edge of the object's ressonant frequency?

seraac Says:

Apr 20, 2007 - Part I Sound waves use the air as mean of propagation... So, we have a box reflecting two sound waves creating different pressure zones into the box. In the center we have a low pressure zone and near to the walls a higher pressure zone. It's all about redefining the air pressure distribution into the box. It's not an antigravity effect!

drdeak Says:

Apr 20, 2007 - Seraac, if I were you I would have stopped with Part I. Part II is bogus. Antigravity is what it is from a physics standpoint, no matter what the cause.I repeat it was only an experiment for "simulated" microgravity conditions on earth as requested by NASA.Nothing more, nothing less.Dr. Deak

tomekw1992 Says:

Apr 21, 2007 - NICE :D

drdeak Says:

Apr 24, 2007 - Well fizzcow you certainly picked a good name for yourself. You're right it's not antigravity, it's anti central gravity. FFOM

aggrippa Says:

Apr 26, 2007 - Your thinking of mag lev or hovering. This is accustic lev. Their pushed together because their are three modules which keep them proppelled in perfect capstasis.

aggrippa Says:

Apr 26, 2007 - post another vid when you find a way to propell a vehicle. Much Abliged

tangnatalaga Says:

Apr 26, 2007 - It says levitation, not anti gravity. Pay attention. If you say it's simple, explain how the object levitate using sound waves. It is not the same way a fan push the air if thats what you are thinking.

PuppyGuts Says:

Apr 27, 2007 - that is amazing, is there a soundtrack. i like that one song, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

ivyshiningivy Says:

Apr 27, 2007 - HelloDo you think that the ancients could have had this sort of technology to 'move' huge stones or blocks. Some standing stones are marked with concentric circles. Could this have been a symbol for soundwaves?

tangnatalaga Says:

Apr 28, 2007 - You do have to use a certain frequency, and the sound must be intense enough right? My dad(mechanical engineer) once told me that with the right frequency, you can shatter a rock. Is that true? All you expert out there? fizzcow or drdeak.

tangnatalaga Says:

Apr 28, 2007 - Have you heard about the idea of using a high frequency sound that we could not hear as the carrierr frequency for sounds we could here, its an idea for a new kind of speaker. I forgot what it was called.

SummitAP Says:

Dec 4, 2008 - That's pretty amazing!I wonder, why does the ping pong ball start spinning? Air currents?

whynotflip Says:

Dec 17, 2008 - you must be aware of haarp then eh?

smartstuff2buy Says:

Dec 21, 2008 - this is how my flying saucer invention works.

JonDeth Says:

Dec 21, 2008 - I've seen these levitaters a few times over the years, too bad they'd be useless in the vacuum of space.

DrLsw Says:

Dec 24, 2008 - UFO's with low humming sound? connection?

DeimosSaturn Says:

Jan 5, 2009 - No, no connection. You're just gullible to even believe UFOs are interstellar alien space craft.

DrLsw Says:

Jan 6, 2009 - I never said "interstellar alien spacecraft." It's possible but I think the gov. plays a large part in the UFO sightings. at least the ones we see

DeimosSaturn Says:

Jan 6, 2009 - When most people say "UFO's with low humming sound? connection?" it is entirely reasonable to assume they are implying flying saucers. And that IS what you are implying. You think the saucers are built by the government, that's the only real point of contention you've made. If the government is experimenting with stealth blimps, so what? Whoopdie damn doo. Lots of machines have low humming sounds.

DrLsw Says:

Jan 6, 2009 - It's completely reasonable to assume a person is talking about aliens when they mention UFO's. I was just stating the possibility that aliens or the government might have manipulated acoustic levitation to make flying vehicles
