Nov 4, 2008 - Sylvia was ahead of her time, not only a singer but she was one of the few women during this time that was producing and managing artists as well as owning several record labels.

Nov 9, 2008 - You guys may not realize it but this is the lady who started the first rap label "Sugar Hill Records" She put out Rappers Delight on the group of the same name as the label. She also helped write "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. She put out the first rap record and had the first rap label. But the stank ass mafia in New Jersey had their grimmie hands in their and ripped everyone off. As usual. With the help of the jewish mafia that runs the music business. All crooks

Nov 17, 2008 - astonishing to see that someone like the one and only Kate Bush used this same beat on her "running up that hill" hit single and that the same beat was used again by Fleetwood Mac on "Big Love". knowing that lead me to this song. very special indeed.

vaccavo Says:

Nov 17, 2008 - Well... 7 musical notes, only. There must be many "repetitions" around!

Nov 27, 2008 - The host was right at the end of this video when he said Sunday by Sylvia sends shivers. I've never heard of it before but looked it up on YouTube to see what he was talking about. I was surprised by the arrangement. I didn't expect it.

vaccavo Says:

Nov 27, 2008 - Thank you my friend. Just listened to Sunday. Sounds VERY like "Ordinary Fool", that Paul Williams wrote to Bugsy Malone (starring Jodie Foster). Sounds A LITTLE like "Good Morning Heartache", which was written for "Lady Sings the Blues" (starring Diana Ross). There's a very good one by Sylvia, too: Sweet Stuff. (I have an album by her which includes a song named "Taxi". Hmmmm!!!!)

Dec 11, 2008 - Thanks for posting this! I bought this single in 1972 and haven't heard it for years! It immediately transported me back to hot summer nights in Eastbourne, 1972.

Dec 23, 2008 - Close your eyes. Play the song. Enjoy...She's not black. She's full of colors. Bet you'll agree.

newguy90 Says:

Dec 25, 2008 - "Good Morning Heartache" is a Billy Holiday classic. It was a hit back in 1946. Search for it on YouTube. Doing a movie about Holiday's life without including that song would be like doing a movie about John Lennon and not including "Imagine".

vaccavo Says:

Dec 25, 2008 - Duly noted, my friend. After I wrote that, I doublechecked. Yes, it was originally recorded by Billy.Sorry. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!Happy 2009!
