Jun 9, 2008 - What's a legitimate journalist these days, anyway? I've worked for mainstream newspapers 30 years, and after the kiss-ass coverage of the runup to the Iraq war, virtually no major media looked legitimate to me. They all cover the presidential race like it's a horse race. It's all about who's ahead by how much, with VERY little coverage of substantive issues.

Jun 10, 2008 - Journalist? YOU??HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!REALLY?? You think you are a JOURNALIST???HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
davehshs Says:
Jun 10, 2008 - AmericanKnowItAll certainly chose the right handle. With absolutely NO evidence one way or the other, he's sure I couldn't possibly be a journalist. Frankly, I don't care if he believes it or not. It's irrelevant to the real point I was making. But it's a lot easier for a knee-jerk dim bulb to attack a writer than to put his little brain in gear and respond to the writer's message.

Jun 12, 2008 - You, a fair minded American? HAHAHAHAHAHAYou must be for Bush-McCain, who started this stupid war. There's blood on your hands.ONLY 16 US intelligence agencies said it has increased hatred for the US, therefore Terrorism! Guess that makes Bush-McCain the best friends of terrorists!Iraq costs $ 1000 a Second, $ 360,000 AN HOUR!
AmericanKnowItAll Says:
Jun 12, 2008 - hey davehshs...you stupid fuckhead...Do you have a Masters in Journalism as I do?Stupid morons have no idea what it takes to be a real writer....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAYou tube is my recreation....watching pathetic excuses like you make claims and videos while claiming to be 'experts'.HAHAHAHAHAAAIDIOT!HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA
AmericanKnowItAll Says:
Jun 12, 2008 - Hey...IDIOTS.A Convention is a PRIVATE FUNCTION...NOT PUBLIC.
davehshs Says:
Jun 12, 2008 - AmericanKnowItAll -- I don't doubt that you have a Master's in journalism. I've worked with a few who were bright and a few who were airheads like you. All you ever do is insult people without responding in any way to the substance of what they're saying. You're either too stupid to get it or too egotistical to think you need to bother.
tyzabeau Says:
Jun 13, 2008 - Journalists have a 'duty' to the public sphere to report all political news. Hence their title as Gatekeeper or watchdog, ever heard of the Fourth Estate, look it up. I think some of the ppl on here could do with some educating!!
roaringforties Says:
Jun 14, 2008 - Very true. It is the way in which journalists contribute to the public sphere that form the basis of what Bourdieu described as an economy based upon the exchange of cultural products.

Jun 17, 2008 - Hey AMericanKNowItAll - I was curious regarding your opinions on Habermas's theories on Public Sphere? You seem to know it all, as your name suggests, so tell me what's your thoughts????
ShootBlueHelmets Says:
Jun 18, 2008 - Give him/her some time to respond. It may have to refer to it's journalistic resource, Wikipedia, first. MMMMer'kunKnowNothing seems to have a masterbater's degree in urinalism.

Jun 18, 2008 - "That's funny, coz its true"( Karen, Will and Grace).
AmericanKnowItAll Says:
Jun 18, 2008 - Hey tyzabeau..Testing me on what you feel is some sort of intellectual game in philosophy by bringing up Habermas?O.K. I'll bite.I am surprised that you, being from Australia, would have even the slightest interest in the well written but sophomoric philisophical conculsions of Habermas, since he bases much on a post-WWII Germany analysis.Habermas's purpose in analyzing the obvious makes his intent dubious, and his ramblings on social network evolution is a waste of energy in my opinion.
AmericanKnowItAll Says:
Jun 18, 2008 - That was "philosophical", not philisophical. When I type fast and furious, my brain outpaces the fingers. Thank god for editors. ;-)

Jun 20, 2008 - Citizen journalist? You mean a blogger?,bloggers and other so called citizen journalists should have no right to freedom of the press since they are held to no standards.

Jul 31, 2008 - They, like every American is covered by the first ammendment that protects freedom of speech in all its forms. What are you some kind of neofascist? Things that are good are done in the light of day. It is only when you are doing something that is a detriment that you need to hide it behind closed doors, and just recently it seems that neocons do everything behind closed doors. Hiding only makes people more suspicious. BTW-Your statement means that you have no right to put up a post here.
Alderon714 Says:
Aug 27, 2008 - Well that's a shame. O well, we should all just roll-over and wait for the network news version, not this free-press stuff.

TruthWatch Says:
Jun 9, 2008 - There are lots of legitimate journalists out there working real hard to get that kind of story about politicians on both sides of the aisle. This guy does not happen to be one of them.
