thraavenunder Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - You dont just join the special forces, you join the army then you go out for trainin in special forces, even if u pass the training they still may not take you just because they may be full, and yes if ur SF then you go into combat you dont get out of it.

LIempirewolf2412 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - u can speak to a recruiter and you can sign up for what would best suit u.. but yes u still gotta join b4 goin str8 to special forces

again100 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Amen.

Glasscherf Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - joining the army says you're willing to be send out to - for instance - Iraq. If you don't want to, don't sign up.

kevinvanduren Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Look once for our dutch Korps Commando Troepen (KCT) their one of world's best to! or our air assault (11e Luchtmobiele Brigade) greetings from the Netherlands partner in afghanistan ;)

elnino103083 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - If you join the Army at ALL, you will go.

CaptainAmerica322 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - SEALs are overrated, PJs and CCT are more limited in their job capabilities, and Green Berets do pretty much everything that every one else does and more. They are the best and most secretive and versit

IMurderedElmo Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - ofcourse u will. the Special Forces are the FIRST ones to go into the battlefield.

noonelikesrussians Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - i mean overrated not overtrained sorry

gimnig Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - you have to be 21 before your allowed into the special forces, i no this because im joining it after i get done with my first contract which is being an army ranger and the SEALs are not overrated, they do there part just like every other special op unit in the military.

nerovsdante911 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - no you dont have to be 21.

cowboymmca Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Everyone knows that the BSOA (BoyScoutsOf America) are the elite of the elite! You know how much training and time goes into earning the campfire patch or the Sewing patch?! JTF2, SAS, DELTA got nothin on the these guys!

mook0w Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - you got a problem with the seals

Guang7 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - right...i can see you have a very bias opinion. GAY. green berets do their job as good as the seal's do theirs. they do different things. all of the spec ops u mentioned are very good. stop the bias shit NOW!

bamarg74 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - bullshit what do green berets do that SEALs dont?....exactly

Fearlessnoob Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - I know man boyscouts would do better in iraq

Idtelos Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - the only reason why you would be 21 is that when you join, you are most likely 18. the average duty time is about 3 years, prior to renewing your stay, you can try out for SPO. Though, you better have airbone, air assault, scuba schools finished. If you will be Infantry Special Forces. Go to Ft. Bragg to train. You'll get training later on Pathfinder school, then go back to Ft. Benning for HALO (high altitude, low opening) jump school.

VBAD85 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - Green Berets and Navy Seals can do all of the same things, but Green berets are used more for unconventional warfare, humanitrian roles, foriegn internal defense, and the setup of intelligence in hostile countries. Navy Seals tend to be used more for direct action and small strikes and some covert reconnaisance.

truthfromabove Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - SPO? i dont know what you are referring to, but all you need to be is an E4(reg army) or i believe 21 now for Xrays. Plus HALO is at Bragg. And i wouldn't get worked up over what gimnig says if he was a ranger for real he would never admit the SEALs doing a good job. He is what those of us "really" in the military despise.

klebanov12 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - The Green Berets, Navy Seals, Rangers and Marine Recon are all good, when it comes for unconventional warfare. The difference is that each special units trains different. In order to be a member of any elite forces, everybody goes to Airborne school, Infantry in Fort Benning GA. 2 Ranger Battalion 21B combat of engineers.2001-2005

klebanov12 Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - The Green Berets,Navy Seals,Marine Recon,Army Ranger,Air Force Special Tactics and Delta Force are all good, when it comes to unconventional warfare. Each elite unit trains different and harder. In 1992 when the U.S was helping Somalia by taking out its rebels, all U.S Speical Operations units was sent in, for example Green Beretsm Rangers,Navy Seals, Marine Recon,Special Air Tactics and Delta Force was used. E-5 U.S 2Ranger Battalion 2001-2005. 21B combat of engineers.

anhacus Says:

Aug 29, 2008 - The military has its hands tied. If you attain SOCOM, you have to hurry up and wait like everybody else. The brass take their orders from top government jelly rolls. They decide everything. Soldiers are just pawns in the equation. If it makes them more powerful, wealthier, even more popular, they're sending you in to die. Never forget that.
