Oct 8, 2008 - The most beautiful voices ever!! The Hollies is one of the most underrated pop rock band.Bobby Elliot a superb drummer.Allan Clarke...well...Allan was the top of the top Although unusually the musical press has always ignored him. Clarke must be in every list about the 10 best singers of the pop-ballad-rock all times, for his vocal level, his versatility for to tackle all the rhythms, and his qualities when he sing the bleated slow ,merseybeat, ballads, reggae, as when he sing hardrock.-

Oct 10, 2008 - So you think there are other handsome men besides Allan? Lol, I didn't think that was possible. :)

Oct 26, 2008 - Friends:Long Cool Woman is approaching 1.000.000 of visits here in you tube. Also, if we add the visits of all the The Hollies songs, they reach a number that is overcome only by Beatles and Stones, equalling The Who. Nevertheless, I do not see that the specializing magazines have perceived this real phenomenon! It is incredible !!

Oct 28, 2008 - Great observation Maipu. With someone like you in the Hollies corner they may get into the RRHOF yet!

Nov 5, 2008 - That's because the Hollies is an amazing, incredible band. One of the best of all times. Thank you, Hollies!!!!!!!

Nov 14, 2008 - Some of this stuff was just as good as the beatles, its just it didnt have that band name tagged on, but this was great anyways.
jobicanobe Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - maipu, you are a connoisseur of music! My favourite group of all timeIf I could take only 1 cd on a desert island, even tho I love Jimmy Ruffin, The Beachboys, Marvin Gaye etc. Who could entertain me with at least 10 hit records (forget the Beatles)
maipu741 Says:
Nov 24, 2008 - thanks JOBICANOBE!

Nov 25, 2008 - You know, I didn't come from that Era, but I love the music! I just don't get what the girls in those days saw in Graham. Allan was better looking, and had the voice in my opinion.

Dec 6, 2008 - My dad grew up in the 60's (and 50's!), and it's through him I grew up listening to great music like this. Ive always hated modern music, even in the early 90's. Hollies were great.
RonPaulGeorgeRingo Says:
Dec 15, 2008 - A real pop gem!The flip side ("Not That Way At All") was good too. This kind of song (and group - this version of the Hollies) was especially cool for some of the late 60's PRE-teens who still needed that "early" Beatles thing, not quite "ready" for everything their older siblings could relate to. At least for a year or 2 . . .
RonPaulGeorgeRingo Says:
Dec 15, 2008 - I think you said it:"PA's, synths and lighting" But as far as MUSIC, I don't think there will ever be anything close to 64, 65, 66, 67, 68 (that period). It starts with great SONGwriters. And the GREATS (Beatles, Elvis, Frank, Bruce, etc.), can do it without props. That said, the 80's had some great talent for sure.
SteveonLI Says:
Dec 20, 2008 - allan clarke appears to be wearing a tutu
carbug1952 Says:
Dec 21, 2008 - that was from the golden generation; merry songs, smiling faces, decent bands
maipu741 Says:
Dec 22, 2008 - Since allan clarke voice is always a marvel.I dont know, but whenever I listen to a Hollies song I feel to little bit of annoyance: Why they there are not into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Who is such an important and so unjust and evil personage to be opposed to his revenue?THEY ARE THE THIRD GROUP AFTER BEATLES AND STONES!!!!
revnstpaul Says:
Dec 27, 2008 - Its kind of like American college football-the best teams do not play for the championship. These guys were so good, but didn't get the play of some lesser bands...
Poopaloo55 Says:
Dec 28, 2008 - Right on, revnstpaul. And in music it has so much to do with who is managing the publicity. I think The Hollies were a bit challenged by that at times. They had a huge core fan base anyway and they deserved more attention IMHO.
stan954 Says:
Dec 31, 2008 - "Where are you from?""Manchester.""Do you support City or United?""I told you I'm from Manchester and you don't have to ask me if I listen to the Hollies or to the Stones, either!" ;-)
BRINIS200S Says:
Jan 1, 2009 - Ah my childhood years ! Can always relate to this playing out in my Dad's old Ford Classic...when sounds were good and the words could be understood...fantastic group !
