Elc22 Says:
Jan 1, 2009 - ahh... the satisfying sound of the p90... gotta love its armor piercing ability (~100% penetration chance of heavy non-ceramic armor [kevlar and titanium weave] at 100M) and high capacity magazine.and for all you out there that think this is a rifle... its not... its a PDW (subclass of the SMG).im surprised not more people are using this weapon, though the Secret Service has adopted it.

ZombieFilmsMan Says:
Jan 3, 2009 - Lol people are so stupid not to be using it. Its such a versitaile weapon. By PDW (personal defence weapon) does that mean its open to the public?
danr239 Says:
Jan 4, 2009 - Love the lift Music
Gortos14 Says:
Jan 4, 2009 - No, it means that it is for vehicle crews (for example) who usually are not in the fight area. They need a quite powerfull, small weapon if the get into a fight with enemy forces. P90 (and HK MP7) were developed to pierce through body armor which submachine guns can't. Of course, it is also used by special forces because it's small and powerfull... But you should not forget that it has disadvantages like low range, long time of reload etc. There is a civilian version too, it's not automatic.
MareMarginis Says:
Jan 4, 2009 - The standard Ozzie rifle is the Steyr AUG...
MareMarginis Says:
Jan 4, 2009 - "armour penetration, that will mean it's a viable choice for those situations."Euhm, that's what it's designed for so yeah, that's what it does :) The PDW term points to small-calibre armor-penetrating weaponst. About preferring larger calibre weapons: higher chance of over-penetration and bullpup designs (which the P90 is) are a lot shorter so they're more suited to indoor use.

Jan 4, 2009 - This shoot tiny piss ass rounds
AZNFTW1000 Says:
Jan 5, 2009 - The 5.7 round can pierce kevlar body armor very effectivly. I am pretty sure it will penetrate about 48 layers of kevlar and would probably get through a SAPI plate.
AZNFTW1000 Says:
Jan 5, 2009 - It is a available to the public in the form of the PS90. This means it has a longer barell and is semi auto only. Also you cannot purcharse the 5.7 round in FMJ only in civilian hollow point rounds available to the public.
tbsdrummer87 Says:
Jan 5, 2009 - Strong because the round size is tiny with a bunch of power behind it. But still small you have to admit
digiwolff Says:
Jan 6, 2009 - the magazine design is ingenius
lilcrazygamer Says:

unnamedninja Says:
Dec 31, 2008 - Yup many of the small organizations use it. I heard Israli and French SF use it, among many others. But FBI and American SF have rejected it, I feel it's a novelty although I hope it's not.I hope you're right though about the reason for it being used is the armour penetration, that will mean it's a viable choice for those situations. But I still feel that the large caliber obsessed agencies would prefer a large caliber which ccan also penetrate armour.
