British Version Of Islam -Hizb.org.uk PUBLIC MEETING: The Government's Plan for Mosques and Madrassahs28/4/2007 London - Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain addressed a packed public meeting in East London following Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly's announcement of plans for the Muslim community. Under the banner of fighting extremism she announced that the government hoped to see a British version of Islam. Taji Mustafa from Hizb ut-Tahrir's Executive Committee explained how the government were using this project to further the global war on terror. He explained that because the rise of Islam was proving to be an obstacle in the way of securing resources and interests in the Muslim world, the governments of the United States and Britain would use the excuse that Islam is violent and threatening to justify their continued intervention.Dr Abdul Wahid, also from the Executive Committee, explained that the government hoped to use pressure from the Charities commission and department of Education to control these institutions. There has been some talk of changing the curriculum. They both gave clear messages of how the Muslim community had to unite and work in a constructive manner to solve our internal problems, otherwise the government would use more excuses to justify intervention.Last week Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain distributed tens of thousands of leaflets addressing the same issue. In that they also commented that plans to establish government approved Imams, and government approved Islam was a way to silence Muslim voices, similar to how Ghulam Mirza Ahmed was promoted to pacify the Muslims when the sub-continent was under occupation. Besides, there are affordable accommodation for tourists for the many budget hotels as well as housing with more than 50 residential apartment blocks.In each of the 44 numbers of lorongs ( i.e. side streets or lanes ), one can find interesting places to visit or view. Beside this, the main Geylang Road is convenient located near to Geylang Serai Market, Joo Chiat area as well as future Paya Lebar second offices and commercial area. Qari Saad Nomani, also known as Sheikh Muhammad Saad Nomani Madani s/o Shahid Khalil Nomani (الشيخ محمد سعد نعماني المدني بن شاهد خليل نعماني), is a reciter of the Qur'ān who is known for his imitations of various reciters, or qaris, of the world. A qari is one who recites verses or chapters from the Qur'ān in a rhythmic manner under strict rules of articulation and recitation. Nomani has the ability to imitate more than 75 qaris and imams including the imams of the two Holy Mosques of the Muslim world in Makkah and Madinah. He is also a host of many Islamic programmes on QTV (ARY) and the Geo TV of Pakistan.Among his tutors are Sheikh Shafiq, Sheikh Muhammad Ayub (ex-guest Imam of Al-Masjid al-Nabawi), Sheikh Bilal Ahmad and Sheikh Muhammad Khalil (Imam of Masjid-e-Quba) Madinah Munawwarah.He is of Pakistani descent and was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After you have had enough of the bazaar, be sure to take a walk through the streets nearby, which are also packed with shops and have a lively atmosphere. Book-lovers can stroll a block over from the bazaar's southwest corner to the book stalls along Sahaflar Carsisi. An intellectual atmosphere pervades this long courtyard, with jumbled displays of second-hand books spilling out of the little shops onto sidewalk tables, and with tiny cafes tucked away. Istanbul University is just two blocks further, so you will undoubtedly see students milling about as well as many older characters. Notice the street vendors in front of the big Beyazidiye mosque at the end of this bibliophile alley, with cheap clothing strung over their arms -- especially denim pants for the students. You are in the middle of Beyazit Square, one of the liveliest places in the Old Town, with several nice sidewalk cafes and many people passing through. If you are keen to see more mosques, have a look inside the Beyazidiye Cami'i, built from 1501 in what is considered the first classical-style design, with an attractive courtyard in front and entrances on three sides. Don't linger here too long because a much bigger and more magnificent mosque is waiting 500 yards away on the other side of the university, the Mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent. The Spice Market is one of the oldest shopping centers in the world, dating back to the 7th century. Inside they sell exotic spices that you would never see at home, along with nuts, candy and dried fruits. Remember to bargain for the goods. The L-shaped market is also called the Egyptian Bazaar and has shops on two floors with a nice café upstairs. It is not nearly as big or touristy as the Grand Bazaar and has an attraction all its own, so don't think that you can skip it because you've already seen the larger market. They are both worth your time.Among the unusual items you can find in this and most other markets is Turkish Delight, a sweet treat popular among locals that makes an excellent gift to bring home.
