This was the best day of my life.I was invited as special guest to MPH 08 by Tommy Wareham of Koenigsegg UK to help promote the new Koenigsegg CCXR Edition.Not a proposal you get everyday.We arrived at Earls Court, London and greeted by Tommy who let us into the MPH way before the it even opens to look at all the supercars. No queuing for us!I walked up to the Koenigsegg stand there and was shocked to be greeted by the founder himself Mr Christian Von Koenigsegg! I spoke to him for ages about the car, where and how its built, the design and engineering behind it. He showed me round the car and opened it all up to see the engine and interior and I sat inside it as well.Christian designed the car completely himself and also did a lot of the engineering and development of all the Koenigsegg cars since business began in 1999.This being the latest Koenigsegg, the CCXR Edition, it is completely made of carbon-fibre and it has a clear coat to reveal the incredible bare weaving of the carbon-fibre body.Inside it is plush red leather throughout with Koenigseggs own sound system and dials and clocks. Christian told me about how civilised it is to drive and also how brutally fast it can be with its 4.8L twin supercharged V8 engine with dry sump lubrication. The engine produces up to 1018bhp when running on bio-ethanol and 888bhp when on regular unleaded petrol.Top speed is over 252mph.The design is flowing and stunning whilst the engineering is complex but precise. This car is like no other. Its unique. Its the only one of 6 that will be ever made in its Swedish factory and this is the only right hand drive version in existence.I know this car now inside out because of the great teachings of a great man. I have had comments about my CCXR video at MPH a bit rushed and I agree. I was just so full of exitment after meeting Christian Von Koenigsegg and seeing the car for the first time I did rush the video a bit so here it is in the dealership in Cheltenham.The car is powered by a 4.8L V8 twin supercharged engine that produces 888bhp. However when filled up up with Biofuel E85 it produces 1,018bhp leading onto a top speed of over 250mph.This car is currentley for sale for £1,500,000 at Broughtons and is specced with the clear coat lacker on the carbon fibre body and the red sports seats.Thanks again Tommy for showing me the Koenigsegg's. 254mph for 3 million bucksThe almighty Koenigsegg CCXR filmed at MPH08! This is one of the fastest supercars ever beating the Veyron even with a top speed of 254mph. I have faster though, I have an SSC Ultimate Aero in my videos. This car adds to the Koenigsegg range on my channel. I have the CC8S, CCR, CCX and CCXR, you have to be a very talented driver to really ount this thing round a track, diffucult with the average Koenigsegg serving up over 800bhp.However there are some good points to the Koenigsegg. All come as a convertible, that engine is astonishing with the twin supercharger system, the top speed is epic, in the case of the CCXR faster than a Veyron. However for a whopping £1.5 million/$3 million that runs on bio-ethanol if I had the money I would'nt buy it. Unless I was a billionare.But what you end up with is a car that is faster tha a Bugatti Veyron, more exclusive than a Lamborghini Reventon and much better bulit than a Shelby SSC Ultimate Aero X TT, and hopefully will soon be proved to its possible 260mph top speed.
