Pfizer recently recalled certain bottles of its epilepsy drug Neurontin (gabapentin). Because of a mechanical failure during manufacture, some of these bottles may contain empty or partially filled capsules. So patients taking these capsules could be underdosed and experience seizures.At this time, only one lot of 100 mg Neurontin capsules is known to be affected by this problem. It's lot #15224V and it was distributed in October and November, 2004. Pfizer has contacted distributors and pharmacists about the recall. The company has also asked pharmacists to immediately contact their customers who use Neurontin.Patients taking Neurontin should not discontinue the drug before consulting with their doctors. If they filled a prescription for the product in 100 mg strength between October 1, 2004 and March 15, 2005 and they're concerned that any unused capsules may be part of the recalled lot, they should contact their pharmacist. This is when my betta cutie fishboy Pakora had velvet. As you can see hes darting and coming up to the surface to reach for air. As you can see his fins are goopy at the ends and clamped. His colour is also very dull and fins look straggly.PS- AT THE TIME I DIDNT KNOW PLASTIC PLANTS WERE DANGEROUS and it caused his split fin, which is now fully healed too, I threw this plastic plant soon after this vid when I learned of it.I cured him all better now, there are other posted videos of him getting better and him back to his full health. I treated him with Maracide to cure his velvet giving him 2 to 3 drops every few days for about a month and a half and he got better.The treatment is supposed to be for 10 days but if you dont see improvement, you are supposed to treat until you do. My own judgement of what I learned, I underdosed him a little bit since I was giving treatment for an extensive amount of time, doing a 30 percent water change to his tank each week. In an earlier program, we told you that one lot of DURAGESIC 75 mcg/h transdermal patches was being recalled by Janssen Pharmaceutica. The recall has now been expanded to include four more manufacturing lots. Recalled DURAGESIC 75 mcg/h patches now include lot numbers 0327192 (exp. 10/05); 0327193 (exp. 10/05); 0327294 (exp. 11/05); 0327295 (exp. 11/05); and 0330362 (exp. 12/05).These patches deliver the opioid fentanyl, used to treat severe chronic pain. These lots are being recalled because of a concern that a small percentage of the patches may leak medication because of an improper seal along one edge of the patch.If the medication leaks from the patch directly onto the patient's skin, overdosing may occur. This can cause nausea, sedation, drowsiness, or potentially life-threatening complications. Caregivers can also be exposed, so anyone who comes in contact with the leaked medication should rinse the exposed skin thoroughly with water. Don't use soap, because this could increase the drug's absorption through the skin.Patients could also be underdosed as a result of a leaking patch. In an opioid tolerant patient, this can lead to withdrawal symptoms, such as sweating, sleeplessness and abdominal discomfort.If you have any product with these lot numbers, stop using, administering or distributing it.
