READ THE DESCRIPTION FOR TRAINING TIPS!In order to prepare for the challenges of the Pokemon League, Devin takes some time to train Marriland, his Infernape, up to level 50.A Beauty on Route 221 has a single Lopunny that gives about 1300 EXP when you beat it, not to mention she gives you about $4300 if you have an Amulet Coin equipped, so she's great to Vs. Seeker spam over and over again. Obviously you'll do a lot better if you have a strong Fighting-type attack to take it out in one shot, but otherwise it's still good training for a whole bunch of other Pokemon. It does know Charm, though, which can spoil your Physical-based Pokemon's fun, so try to OHKO it before it can use that.There's also a Rich Boy on the same route with a lone Luxio that gives just about 1000 EXP, but over $13000 with an Amulet Coin equipped, so he's another great option to fight for lots of money and a good amount of EXP. Plus Luxio isn't too rough, other than it using Swagger to confuse you.The music used in this video is Elite Four...

I wasn't expecting a Hail-based team, and even if I did, it's not like I really had much that could counter it anyway. I wish I would have lead with Blissey for the T1 Stealth Rock like I was planning on (opted for the sure thing with Gyarados, although that didn't go so well). And I was REAAAAALLLLYY hoping that he didn't have an Electivire, but I guess I misplayed there and got greedy trying to get a free T-Wave off of something. The official Marriland Tournament Final, just as the title says xD. If you want to know how a real pokemon match looks like, watch this. Two things here cost me the match: 1. Incredible mistake when I let Heatran be killed by EQ, his entire team besides Aerodactyl was weak to it. 2. Luck hax on his part when fire blast missed Bronzong on the switch in: Bronzong would have been dead otherwise and as you can see it was what won him the match in the end. Here it is! My first ever tournament has went exceptionally well and I have made it to my first final. So far in the tournament I have not adapted as well to the 2OUs, 2BLs and 2UUs restriction as I would have liked. Usually I win by good margins but here I have at times scraped by with the most dangerously close scores (NB Rnd 1 Vs JavelinMike) or even ended up tying the match (NB the semi vs Monztor). It has truely been a difficult journey for me and it has all led to here.Cross was really psyched for this match. In the tourney thread he boasted how his team had been tested against standard teams and often won 6-0. And when you see his tactics you can see he was not strecthing the truth, he is fully deserving of a spot in the final.I am battling here for myself, obviously, but also for Monztor who was unable to rematch me for our semi tie. I was given the pass to the final and I like to think I represent both of us, I hope to do you proud Monztor!Enjoy this vid and enjoy the build up to it, it took longer than usual but it encompasses my tourney as a whole and then starts on the actual final.Spoilers follow:------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well the first big thing you need to know here is that we actually battled 3 times. The first was won by me, but Cross made a misclick at a crucial time, and I truly think it was a misclick, and I could not accept victory so cheaply in a tournament that I have come to respect so much.I challenged him to a rematch, something he reluctantly accepted, but that went horribly wrong for me, with me missing something like 3-4 attacks all in a row. Cross tried to be sympathetic and said he would sacrifice 1 or 2 pokes, and when I saw by his next move he was serious I ran from the battle, I did not want to win that way either.Finally we talked for a while and decided with the score kind of at 1-1 we would have a final final. One to decide everything and to hell with bad luck or misclicks there was no going back. And this is it. A throughly outstanding final!Angel comes back to the team after missing out on the semis and shows its strength. I really believe it can push for a place in OU, its only real bad weakness being the dominance of SR in the metagame. But the inclusion of a good spinner can nullify this and give you a really sublime poke to wreck havoc with.That said at the end I screw up and attack his Yanmega when I really should have roared, making it unable to return to battle without fainting. I used that tactic in the first match between us that I won and am very disappointed in myself that I overlooked it in the rematch.His shuckle deserves special mention because it potentially messed up my team at one point and really had me thinking. I was glad when that thing slithered back to its pokeball for good!This match is won mainly by the strength of my two sweepers and Angel, my cleric. Heracules is superb and beautifully counters the threat of both a Sucker Puncher and a status inducer with substitute and can move on from that to really do damage. My ape again carries the weight of being one of the only two OUs allowed on the team well by pulling off vital KOs. I'm glad to have it on my team and recommend it to anyone.Basically in this battle I went for what I know, with Angel, and attack over defensem with my two big pokes being sweepers rather than focusing on walls. In a metagame that constantly whines about walls ruining itself, throwing caution to the wind can often pay off better than playing it safe.Thanks for watching and thanks for following my tournament. This is the long awaited semi final match between myself and Monztor.Our original match today d/c'd at 6-4 to Monztor which is very unfortunate for him. As we could not recreate the original moves again the same way because of luck being a factor and our own memories, we just re did the original 4-5 moves. The second time we re did it there was a problem too, so sadly I had to sit and watch my Hero die three times, and if anything can dent your confidence its seeing your favourite guy take so many repeated KOs... or maybe it spurred me on...Spoilers follow:------------------------------------------------------------------------------One word is thrown around a lot in wifi battles. I have seen it misused countless times, often in a sneaky way to lure surfing youtubers onto the channel. But this battle is surely earning of that word. And the word is epic!Any 0-0 is going to be a tight affair. Bt given the hax that both parties endure (admittedly Monztor suffers more) it makes the scoreline all the more dramatic! It's impossible not to feel like you cheated someone when they get para, crit, para all in a row, but Jirachi's ability is Serene Grace so that explains a little, but still bad luck Monztor.My bad luck hits me at a crucial point. Jirachi starts missing with a slightly innaccurate Zen Headbutt and faints when he could have caused more damage. In my head at this point I was confident, I knew all he had after Gastrodon was an orbed Metagross and that couldn't take out all 4 of my guys (taking into account the recoil damage and SR). Jirachi's untimely death followed by Sekhmet's missed Overheat hurt me bad. They no longer factor in the recoil damage equation because metagross doesn't have to attack them. And looking at the hp it was left with after one ST from Miltank there was no way it could have been able to take out even one more guy and survive the ST.But luck is a factor in pokemon and only adds to the tension in the battle. As promised this is my Round One tournament match against JavelinMike. As I said before, he is probably one of my biggest rivals on Marriland. I recently joined the same clan as him and had to battle him to join. We had also battled twice previously and so far the score in those games stood at 2-1 to me.Fate decided to pair us up in the first round of Rawbi's School's Out for Summer tournament and we decided to record the battle and put it on youtube so here it is!Rules: We both had to use 2OUs, 2BLs and 2UUs. So this is neither of ours strongest teams, this is us obeying the rules of the tournament, which do add to its variety.Spoilers after this point:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Our last battle was when I joined Clan Deity and it was to see what rank I would be. After an epic match, which lasted over an hour, he was haxed by getting two consecutive paras and losing out... here the hax is repaid on me!I dont want to get into listing things but how many crit hits does he get!? (I know I get two but they are both on sure fire kos anyway). And he gets one of the paras back and a couple of flinches and the list goes on...But that doesnt take away from a good performance. We both duke it out well and twice I am saved by nothing more than a few HPs! I loved this battle and every one we have I feel totally on edge because it is just that competitive.Angel excels here. And it shows the worth of not sacrificing a pokemon that looks near dead in a bad situation. Early on, after Angel flinhces, another Air Slash would take it out, but I decide I want to absorb the blow with someone else and keep the ice bird for later on, and how much does that decision pay off? What a match winner!Also, I feel I should explain why Predator does Ice Shard on Weezing. It might seem silly to you, but I had got so much hax (some with para effect already) that I thought long about that decision and decided that if it were to happen again to Predator it would rob it of one turn (switching its speed adv to below Weezings cos of para) and I couldnt afford that. But using a priority move would negate that so I take that route. I just felt that unlucky that I had to go with it and while it didn't win me the match it also didnt cost me and Im thankful for that.Anyway, great game, comment, rate, subscribe and tune in for round 2 of the tournament!
