'Glory Fleeting' is my latest retro 1960's Ric Tic Detroit style composition and recorded at 113 bpm which is a little slower than my normal songs. Influenced by the great session musicians of Detroit circa 1965 and in particular the Golden World studios where the likes of Dennis Coffey, Bob Babbit, Don Davis, Eddie Willis and Uriel Jones would perform their magic. Whilst Joanne Bratton and Ed Wingate were very cleverly emulating the Motown Sound in 1965, little did they know that I have been trying to understand the difference between theirs and Motown productions since I was 19 when I first heard Ooh! Pretty Lady by Al Kent. This track features legendary saxophonist George Katsakis of The Royaltones who has superbly crafted that low end bari sound that I love:http://www.saxkat.com/saxkatcgi/index.pl?init=1 and indeed all the other sax parts.My intentions are to record this track with musicians and singers in Detroit next year. I do hope George Katsakis will join me in the studio to perform on the recording. I am also hoping to get some great musicians too, if lucky! 'Glory Fleeting'
